Kaycee & Joseph – Wedding Ceremony at Bella Donna ChapelMckinney, Texas

Kaycee & Joseph are married and this one was a tear jerker!  I loved this couple from the moment they walked into my studio.  God has definitely orchestrated their meeting, their marriage and this beautiful day!  Today I am sharing their ceremony at Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney, Texas.   These two picked a special date, their anniversary so it landed on a Wednesday but they will be celebrating their vows with all their friends and family at The Modern Art Museum in September and I can’t wait to share that day with them!

I asked Kaycee what she was most looking forward to about her wedding and I loved the sweet reply she gave:

“The fact that it’s an intimate wedding in a unique venue, and that the reception is separate will make it memorable. We try to be intentional about the things we do, and we believe we have created some potentially amazing scenes to capture our love, the union of our families, and to share that with those we value the most.”

Their ceremony was truly intimate and sweet.  One of my favorite things about Joe & Kaycee is how the love God first, then each other.  Their ceremony was truly an act of worship and I know that their hearts are centered in His will because of what Joe told Kaycee when he proposed:

“Joe’s proposal was to be grand – a trip to Paris or something on that scale. But every time he tried to plan it out, God stopped him. He made it clear that this marriage is not about us – it’s about His will and about giving glory to Christ who has saved both of us, and He told Joe that he was to propose under Christmas lights in a very simple way that offers the marriage back to God. On that magical night under white Christmas lights, Joe put two rings on Kaycee’s finger – his engagement ring, and also an eternity band that is offered to Christ. Joe told Kaycee that she first belongs to Christ, so He gets the first ring. Joe will then put his band on her finger next to it on the day we wed.”

If that doesn’t make you cry…. I’m crying now!

Kaycee & Joe – thanks so much for sharing your love with me and I can’t wait for the party!  Shout out to all the vendors who made the day so special:

Ashley & Josh – Wedding Ceremony at Holly Redeemer Catholic ChurchAledo, Texas

Ashley & Josh’s wedding ceremony was precious!  These two were married at their family church in Aledo where they live.  During the ceremony I loved all the stolen little glances, smiles and moments – like when Ashley asked the priest if he was going to have them kiss.  He had almost forgotten!  During the ceremony their flower girl tried to steal the show but she could not outdo how gorgeous Ashley looked!

Allison & Michael – Wedding Ceremony at Robert Carr ChapelTCU Campus, Fort Worth

Allison and Michael are married!  After 3 years of dating Michael asked Allison to marry him and now they are husband and wife starting their happily ever after with a fabulous European honeymoon (I was following every step of their trip this month and just so excited for them!). I love that travel is a part of their lives and Michael even proposed on a trip!  Here is their will you marry me story:

“We had been dating for almost 3 years before Michael got down on one knee. Michael proposed to me on 8/10/2016 on a family trip to Aspen. He planned a lovely picnic in evening with my family in music park with wine, crackers, and cheese. I was completely off guard when he surprised me with him down one knee. We will have been engaged for one year and ten months (on our wedding day)” – Allison

Michael has one of my favorite smiles ever.  Yep, ever.  When he sees Allison that smile just takes over and the joy Michael has is contagious!  When she walked down the aisle on her Daddy’s arm he looked so fully happy!  I said in my first post that Allison picked a man of character, like her Daddy.  There is no more proof than if you scroll down and check out the photos of her Daddy right before he gives her away and Michael right after he accepts his bride.  They both are looking at Allison with so much admiration, it’s undeniable that she is loved by both of them.

Thank you to everyone for pouring into this day!  This Fort Worth Wedding was amazing!

Lauren & Richard – Wedding Ceremony at St. Patrick’s CathedralFort Worth, Texas

Lauren & Richard are a super special couple to me – they are the 6th among their friend group to tie the knot that I have been able to photograph!  It’s so fun to go on these journeys with my couples and to be reunited all together to celebrate another one of their friends getting married. These two have amazing friends, family and a love for each other that is beautiful to watch.  They selected Rivercrest Country Club in Fort Worth for their wedding reception because they spend allot of time there, live nearby and it is where Richard proposed!  It’s also where we chose to have their first look so that we could capture images on the golf course on their wedding day.  I loved that when we headed outside for their big reveal that there was so few people around, it was so private and perfect for them!  Here is their Rivercrest Country Club proposal story:

“One of our favorite things to do is take our dog, Echo, on walks, especially in places where he doesn’t have to be on a leash because he loves to chase tennis balls and squirrels. For that reason, and because the River Crest golf course is such a short distance away, we generally take him there on Mondays when the club is closed or when it’s getting dark and golfers are finished playing. This particular walk after work didn’t seem out-of-the-ordinary because the weather was nice, and it was a Monday. I think I had even asked Richard the day before if we could take Echo for a walk the next day.
He called me around 5 p.m. Monday to let me know he was leaving work and to come over when I was ready. That’s generally earlier than he usually leaves work, but work had been particularly stressful for him the few weeks prior, so when he phrased it as just being a long day and he needed to go home, I didn’t think anything of it. I was so not suspicious, in fact, that I took my time getting there and even tried helping him with laundry when I got there. After rushing me out the door because “Echo had been waiting for so long and was so excited,” I told him every detail about my day and didn’t let him get in any of the sweet words he had planned to say on the walk over. It even took me a few seconds to realize he was actually on his knee asking me to marry him, not just tying his shoe. It turns out that he was rushing me out the door because his mom had been hiding behind a tree in someone’s yard for about 30 or 40 minutes so she could capture photos of that moment.”

She said yes at the country club and then they celebrated their I do there!  It was perfect!  They said their I Do at St. Patricks Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth.  The church has a special place in their hearts, they attend there together and have grown spiritually as a couple there.  It is also their family church, Richard’s Grandfather attended there as a child and was an altar boy almost 90 years ago!

Thank you to everyone who made their wedding so special!

Stephanie & Connor – Wedding Ceremony at St. Patrick’s CathedralFort Worth, Texas

Stephanie & Connor are married after 7 years of dating and I could not be happier for them!  I had an amazing time with them and their friends and family for their wedding weekend.  Connor is a good guy who knows how to plan grand gestures.  He did a fabulous job and totally tricked Stephanie when he proposed by taking her to HIS favorite place in the world.  Here is their story in her words:

“For our 6 year anniversary, Connor said he wanted to plan a surprise trip. Other than giving him a weekend that worked well for me, I had no idea / input in what was to come. We flew to California and he brought me to Pelican Hill – a golf resort that I knew was one of his favorite places in the world. After he arrived, he said we already had a tee time booked and needed to get ready. While getting ready, he suddenly received a call from the resort (which he put on speaker) telling him that they had messed up our reservation and we would not be able to golf. Instead they offered to make it up to us with complimentary drinks by the beach. A Bentley picked us up and brought us to the beach, and while we were walking down the beach we suddenly came upon the scene Connor had planned all along. A violinist, a picnic blanket, roses, and it suddenly all became very obvious what was about to happen! After he proposed, my sister came out of her hiding spot and was there to celebrate with us the whole weekend!”

His sweetness continues as every time he looked at her on the wedding day he lit up.  Stephanie was stunning in her gown and just glowing!  I may have got a little tingle a few times over how pretty and emotional this day was.  It was the best!!!

Ragan & Alex – Wedding Ceremony at Saint Stephen Presbyterian ChurchFort Worth, Texas

Ragan & Alex are married!  Their ceremony at St Stephen’s was beautiful and I had the best seat in the house!  From my little hidden spot I got to see all the smiles, shared glances and their faces as they said their vows.  I always think I am the luckiest guest!  After saying I do we enjoyed the courtyard and architecture of the church before boarding Molly the Trolly to head to the Fort Worth Zoo for the reception!

Callie & Ryan – Wedding Preparations & Ceremony in Fort WorthMarty Leonard Chapel

Callie & Ryan are married!  These two got their start as friends as Callie knew Ryan’s sister in High School but now after 4 years of dating they are married!  I had a blast hanging out with Callie and her bridesmaids at an Air B&B while they primped for the big day.  Callie got all teary eyed when her Momma walked in all ready for the wedding and there was some definite emotion once Callie was in her gown from Mom – I love Mother Daughter relationships!  It’s so great to see them must celebrating each other!  Before the ceremony they choose to have a quick little chat around a wall at Marty Leonard Chapel and then it was on to say I Do!

Laura & Dave – Wedding Ceremony at Highland Park United MethodistDallas, Texas

Laura & Dave are just adorable together.  Their wedding day was fun filled and oh so sweet!  These two were introduced through a mutual friend Gabe, she knew Dave from law school and once night after a fun night out they met up and thus started the road to the altar.  It took a little bit as Laura & Dave didn’t go on their first official date until a little over a month later.  What started with Instagram likes and friend hang outs became more quickly!  Here is what Laura had to say about their beginnings:

“Our “official first date” was Shakespeare in the Park for a showing of Romeo and Juliet. From then on we were pretty much inseparable (I think there were only 4 or 5 days we didn’t actually see each other during the first 6 months we had dated), and still love to go to Shakespeare in the Park on a regular basis as season pass holders.  I knew within the first three weeks after Shakespeare in the Park that the was “the one”, and after he told me “I love you” (he said it first!) on Labor Day 2015, and I may have immediately started saving pictures of engagement rings on my phone…”

I just love them!  Thanks to all the vendors who made their wedding day so special!  My favorite part about their ceremony is that Laura grew up looking out her window at Cox Chapel, she saw so many brides in white dresses taking photos outside.  On this day it was her turn!  It was fun to do some getting ready in her childhood home across the street before saying I Do in the chapel!

Christy & Mark – Wedding at St Patrick’s CathedralFort Worth, Texas

Christy & Mark had one of the luckiest wedding days of my career.  When it calls for rain we make plans, backup plans and bring out the umbrellas.  Christy and Mark weren’t worried though and the reward for that was hours of no rain at just the right time for outdoor portraits.  It helps to have a meteorologist on your bridesmaid squad who can read the radar’s and calm your nerves about the hour by hour forecast.  On the way to the church there was some rain but as you see above that didn’t stop the joy of this day!

Christy and Mark met while working at the same company, their desks were literally right next to each other.  They  joke that God had to literally put their significant other in front of their eyes, because they couldn’t figure it out on their own.

The wedding party did prep at the Omni Fort Worth before walking over to St Patricks Cathedral in downtown for their mid day ceremony.  Thanks to the following vendors for making the day so seamless despite the weather:
