Some proposals are spontaneous. Others are months in the making.

Sam had a vision for proposing to Elyse, and from the very beginning, every detail was thoughtfully planned. Together, we coordinated the timing, chose the perfect location, and made sure everything was in place so the only surprise left was the one waiting for Elyse.

The evening began with dinner at La Stella Cucina in the Dallas Arts District. Afterward, Sam suggested a walk through the neighborhood, leading Elyse behind Hall Arts Hotel where sculptures, architecture, and quiet corners created the perfect backdrop. Hidden just out of sight, Amanda waited for the moment she’d been anticipating.

As Sam dropped to one knee, Elyse’s expression said it all.

The excitement, the happy tears, and the overwhelming joy that followed were exactly why proposals are some of our favorite moments to photograph. There’s something so special about capturing a moment that changes two lives forever.

Once the excitement settled, we wandered through the Dallas Arts District, taking engagement portraits as the newly engaged couple soaked in every moment together. Between the city streets, modern architecture, and the excitement of what had just happened, every photo reflected the joy they were feeling.

But Sam wasn’t finished surprising her.

A few blocks away at the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District, another surprise was waiting. As the elevator doors opened onto the rooftop, Elyse was greeted by family and friends who had gathered to celebrate the newly engaged couple. What she thought had been the perfect proposal turned into an unforgettable evening surrounded by the people they love most.

Sam’s thoughtful planning created an experience Elyse will never forget, and we were honored to capture every surprise, every emotion, and every joyful moment along the way.
