There is something special about the night before the wedding.

At Joe T. Garcia’s, surrounded by courtyard lights and classic Texas charm, our couple gathered their favorite people for a rehearsal dinner and welcome party that felt joyful, relaxed, and full of heart.

This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding weekend.

Before the timeline tightens. Before the veil is placed. Before the music swells down the aisle.

The rehearsal dinner is where hugs linger. Toasts feel intimate. Parents exhale. Friends reconnect. Everyone settles into the meaning of what is about to unfold.

For me, it is a gift. Extra time to connect. To notice the inside jokes, the lifelong friendships, the way our couple naturally leans toward their people. It allows me to step into the wedding day not as a stranger, but as someone who understands the rhythm of their relationships.

These evenings are not simply a prelude. They are part of the story. Part of the legacy. Part of the full picture of a wedding weekend beautifully lived.

And capturing that joy matters just as much as the “I do.”
