Allyson & Austin – Engagement Session at Kimbell Art Museum & Wildflowers with Lake Overlook

Engagement

I cannot begin to explain my joy in getting to photograph engagement sessions again! It’s been a minute as we had a long pause in booking weddings during the last year with covid but now we are back in full swing and that has meant new beautiful couples to capture!

Allyson and Austin will be getting married this summer – it’s going to be amazing – why? Because look at them! They are perfectly sweet, silly and fun! During their session their playfulness made photographing them so easy.

They met in a summer church home group. He noticed Allyson and she noticed his shoes. One night toward the end of summer, when he was preparing to move back to school after his internship, he asked her to dance at Billy Bobs. (Side note: he was really bad at dancing but he charmed Allyson anyway). They dated long distance while he attended his senior year until finally in June of 2020 he moved back to Fort Worth. Allyson says she hasn’t laughed and had more fun in my life.

For their session we went for a little clean modern vibes at the Art Museum district in Fort Worth before hitting up a beautiful nature location. This cool spot has a lake overlook with killer views and fields that are full of Texas wildflowers right now. It’s my favorite because it feels more like the Hill Country than Fort Worth!

Allyson is one of our second photographers for the Lightly Photo team and she interned with us when she was in High School. I am really blessed to see her grow as a woman and photographer and get to share in her wedding day story. Onward to the wedding in a few months!!!
