Annie and Josh – Engagement Session in Fort WorthNature & Fairmount District

I am CRAZY excited for this wedding.  In just 4 short weeks these two are saying I do and kicking off a new life together at MOPAC here in Fort Worth.  If you are a bride of mine this sweet lady will look familiar – she is my amazing associate photographer Annie Norvell!  I love her sweetness, silliness and passion for photography, Christ and life.  I have always thought she was pretty amazing from the first time I photographed her – for her High School Senior Portraits!  But, when she met Josh this last year I watched her grow deeper in love with Jesus, focus her life and fall head over heels for a Man that fulfilled her.  It has truly been the best to see her mature along side him AND I have really loved getting to know Josh.  From Facebook messages and texts to plan a surprise proposal (see it HERE) and being at his side as he nervously awaited the moment he would ask Annie to marry him – Joshua has impressed me with his honesty, fun spirt and desire to serve God and the woman he believes was set apart for him.

This wedding will be a little extra special for me – Annie is like my baby sister – SO, Josh – welcome to the family!  I can’t wait for you to marry one of my favorite people in the world because I know she is for sure your favorite.

p.s. – HUGE shout of thanks to Amanda for assisting me on this shoot, helping with poses, making them laugh and generally being a great person.  Love you girl!

Jennifer & Stephen – Engagement Portraits at Winspear Opera House & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

Tracy Autem 2015

I am on the edge of my seat in anticipation for this wedding next Spring.  Stephen and Jennifer and super fun together and I had a blast photographing them last week.  These two met in high school but started dating just a few years ago.  Now they find themselves living in Dallas and getting married in San Antonio next year.  These two together are pretty much the best.  I love Stephen’s silly faces and how he knows exactly how to make Jennifer smile.  We explored the Winspear Opera House area near downtown Dallas and Jen rocked a statement cobalt blue dress that made her eyes and hair pop!  After a little city we went for a total opposite vibe near White Rock Lake.  With their sweet golden pup in towe we snuggled up in the grass and had some fun with gorgeous sunset light.  Congrats Jennifer & Stephen!  So excited for you two!

Kathryn & Douglas – Fort Worth Engagement Photos at Trinity Park & The Water Gardens

Kathryn and Douglas are super sexy and amazing.  This couple has chemistry to spare, I could photograph them all day long!  They are so sweet upon each other and they just light up when they are in each others arms.  Little pup Ella joined us for a few photos with them at Trinity Park in Fort Worth.  The light was golden and perfect for their woodsy park photos.  Kathryn & Douglas love the natural vibe so for their second outfit we kept a little bit of a park feel in by hitting up the Water Gardens.  Definitely a little used location it was perfect with Kathryn’s elegant and classic black dress with lace accents and Douglas’ cool suspenders.  Thanks so much guys for selecting me for your wedding, we are going to rock it out for your Thursday wedding at the Piazza in the Village this spring!

Cristina & Eric – Fort Worth Engagement Photos in Trinity Park & Downtown

Ahhhhhh, Ok, SO I am in LOVE with the above picture.  Cristina is all about the big city, loves New York and Eric is all about down home and relaxed.  I feel this photo so fuses those two looks and I adore it.  The rest of their Fort Worth engagement session was pretty spectacular too as we ran around town to some of their favorite hang outs and Trinity Park.  To put a bit of a bonus spin on their shoot we also took photos in front of Cooks Children’s Hospital (where Cristina works as a RN) with Eric’s patrol car.  It was a fun nod at who they are in their professional lives and how they mesh as a couple.  Loved their out of the box idea!  Can’t wait for their wedding next April!

Sarah & Michael – Engagement Photos at a Private Residence

I can not believe these two are getting married in TWO days!  We got together earlier this week for their long over due engagement session as Michael is currently stationed over seas with the military and hasn’t been in town in ages!  I was excited to finally meet him as I have already photographed Sarah’s bridals and had lots of chances to hang out with her.  We met up on her families property to capture their past and present as I know the future has many adventures ahead of them that will most likely lead them away from Texas.  Sarah & Michael are high school sweet hearts, meeting in equine class they shared their first date on horseback at her place so it was so fitting to be there to mark this next step in their lives.  I adore how Sarah melts and shines in Michael’s presence.  These two had no problem with my one major rule for engagements, dangerously close.  I love that!  There wedding Saturday is sure to have me in a mess as I know I will cry and laugh behind my camera.  See you both SOON!

Jennifer & Perry – Engagement portraits in Weatherford and Chandor Gardens

Jennifer and Perry are getting hitched this coming fall at St Patricks Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth.  We completely hit it off when we met the first time so I was looking forward to hanging out with them at their Engagement.  When Perry walked up he greeted me with a big hug, yep, I like this guy.  I love groom’s that are excited about their wedding, their wife to be and photography!  I also adore that this couple went outside the box, they selected Chandor Gardens for their session.  A definite favorite of mine for bridal portraits but they are my first clients to ever choose it for engagements!  It is an awesome location for any type of photography.  We enjoyed the gardens before heading to a few other spots I like in Weatherford and then got their fur children involved (they have 3 precious doggies).  It was perfect and we finished up right as some storm clouds were rolling in!  Thanks guys for hanging out with me, see you soon!

Ann & John {Engaged} Fort Worth Engagement Photos

Ann and John live in San Francisco but are getting married here in Texas next year.  Ann is originally from Fort Worth so I had met with her Mom who is handling most of the planning for them (got to love the Mom’s that make long distance planning possible) and was excited to meet the both of them at their engagement session.  We hit it off right away and dived right in to taking some photos.  With John being a true California guy I had to search my brain for he least “Texas” looking locations so that the photos would be perfect for both of them.  We always strive when picking locations to properly represent both the bride and groom and it can be easy to leave some ones personality out if you are not aware of their differences.  I think these two are a perfect match though, John just didn’t know what he needed was a perfect Southern girl from Texas until he met Ann.  They actually met by becoming roommates!  These two shared a home with a few others and started hanging out, became friends and their relationship just grew from there.   I can’t wait to see them again next May especially because they are having their reception at one of my very favorite venues, The Modern in Fort Worth!

Morgan & Jason {Engaged} Fort Worth fields and old farmers market

Morgan and Jason are one unique couple.  They are fun and loving and I know their wedding will be a killer party.  How do I know?  They selected to ring in the new year with their wedding and we will be celebrating with them at midnight on December 31st at the Fort Worth Club  and I can’t wait!  They are getting married earlier in the day at First United Methodist in down town but their friends and family have no excuse not to have fun since they have selected a great band and the best venues for thier special party.

This weekend we met up for some engagement photos and hanging out.  Morgan definitely knows the way to Jason’s heart and she found mine too as she came to the session with home baked goods and everyone knows that I love yummy things.  They wanted locations that were relaxed so we headed to one of my favorite oasis’ in down town, Heritage Park right on the Trinity river.  We had beautiful sunrise light and it was absolute perfection.  After we hit up the old farmers market building which with all its burnt red accents perfectly picked up the blue in this couples eyes as well as made Morgan’s waterfall dress pop!  We also ran by a few other favorite spots like the Modern and a warehouse by downtown.  It was great getting to know them, finding out about Morgan’s impressive cooking skills and how Jason is a pro at eating her delicious cuisine.  I love that this couple has been friends for years and that they fell in love at the oh so perfect time and I can’t wait to see them start their lives together and hope to be there for them with future mile stones (Morgan you already promised so expect calls in the future about babies or doggies!)

Natalie & Ryan {Engaged} Urban walls and Herritage Park field

Natalie and Ryan are getting married this June and we finally had a chance to get together and not only take engagement photos but meet for the first time! They both live in Houston and planning from out of town can be tough so we had a phone consultation but had never met.  Natalie is a girl who knows what she wants, especially when it comes to weddings because she is a coordinator and also does floral design.  Because of this she has put together once exclusive team of vendors and I frankly can not wait for her wedding!  They came by the studio early so we could chat, look at some albums and other products and get to know one another a bit before they had to be in front of the camera.  They loosened right up and I had such a great time with them.  My favorite part of the entire session was Ryan picking a dandelion for Natalie to blow on for a wish.  Unfortunately it was one stubborn weed but it sure was sweet.

Christina & Mason {Engaged} Fort Worth Urban session in the South Side

For my last photo shoot of 2010 I met up with Christina & Mason for their engagement session.  They are getting married in just a few short weeks in February with a candle lit ceremony at Marty Leonard Chapel and a reception at City Club Fort Worth.  I can’t wait, especially after spending time with these two!

Christina and Mason dated in high school and have had an on/off relationship ever since and thankfully now it is fully on and they are walking down the aisle.  It makes complete sense to me after just a few hours with these two.  They are completely goofy and silly with one another and extremely sweet.  I love how Christina plays with his hair and how they just giggle all the time (Mason giggles in a very masculine way though.)  It was a huge compliment that Christina selected me for her photography as she has a degree in photography (Her sister does too!) and is teaching elementary art and hopes to pursue photography professionally in the future.  It is always a trip when I get to use technical words during a shoot and know that a client gets what I am doing.

You two were the icing on the cake for 2010 and the most perfect session to start the new year on the blog!  See you both in February!
