Olivia & Bobby – Engagement Photos at Fort Worth Stockyards & Sundance SquareFort Worth, Texas

Last week I finally got to meet Olivia & Bobby and I just adored getting to know this laid back couple. These two may be from different states but life brought them to DFW and then they were perfectly thrown together one night in Dallas:

“We first met in January of 2016 at a bar in Dallas. We were both out with a few of our own friends, and we all ended up meeting and joining together for the rest of the night. Bobby and I had exchanged phone numbers and had texted a few times for the next couple of weeks. I agreed to meet up with him for a drink in February and we ended up having such a fun night and got along really well. We have been together ever since!”

I love that even though neither of them lived in Dallas they met and fell in love there and are now planning their future and the wedding day here in Fort Worth. Bobby had a great proposal for his favorite girl in the world. I love how Olivia tells it:

“Bobby and I went up to Indiana to visit my family and go to our lakehouse for his birthday in July. That Friday, we were going on a cocktail cruise around the lake with my family and grandparents and stopped at an island on the lake because my mom had told us she wanted to take family pictures. We got out of the boat and started taking pictures, then Bobby started telling a story and proposed! There were confetti canons, signs, bells, and champagne all hidden on the boat and we celebrated the rest of the way home. The next day, all of my cousins and aunts and uncles came up to the lake and we had an engagement party with the whole family.”

Congrats you two and can’t wait for your fall wedding next year!

Christine & Andrew – Engagement Photos at Dallas Arboretum & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

Christine and Andrew are getting married TODAY! That’s right – in just a few hours Andrew will be marrying Christine at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. We waited to photograph their engagement session until last week so I am excited to share some of their photos on their big day!

These two were introduced through mutual friends a few years ago and they hit it off! They have built a great life in Dallas together with their Golden Doodle Layla. I was so excited to spend time with them and I can’t wait to see how beautiful Christine looks today! Happy Wedding day you two!

Cherrell & Alan – Engagement Session at Dallas Arboretum & Arts DistrictDallas, Texas

I am just so excited for Cherrell & Alan’s New Years Eve wedding next year! That’s right – I have to wait over a year to photograph this gorgeous couple again! I don’t know how I am going to wait that long!

These two were pulled together through common friends online – Cherrell was bold and reached out and Alan was happy to get that message. Shortly after they had their first two dates – all in one day! These two have been doing their relationship long distance since the start due to Alan finishing medical school and now in his Residency while Cherrell is in Physician Assistant School.

Alan lights up with his gorgeous big smile anytime Cherrell is near – I can see these two are smitten for each other and that they have a solid relationship and great respect for one another. For some fun at the end of their shoot we headed to a medical center for a few Doctor themed photos to pay honor to their professions.

Sarah & Derek – Destination Wedding at Lake TahoeTahoe, Nevada

October 22, 2017 Ceremony

Sarah & Derek were married at a private residence on Lake Tahoe. This spectacular location had amazing views, lake front access and the perfect little green to say I do! This rustic elegant wedding was so beautiful! Sarah and her Mom, Ima Jean, did an amazing job pulling together every single details for this intimate affair. This couple knew they wanted to keep it small and it was so sweet because just their closest family was in attendance. Sarah prepared upstairs while Derek got ready downstairs – with just a staircase between them I had to make sure they stayed in their places! Sarah’s airy skirt and gorgeous detailed bodice was beautiful on here and her cascading curls and unique headpiece made the look! Derek was dapper in winter suiting with textured layers and colors. During the ceremony, officiated by Sarah’s sister in law, everyone was smiling – including me! Tears were totally shed by this lady behind the camera as they vowed to love one another – and all of Sarah’s animals and even Derek’s ducks! These two are so perfectly suited for each other – it just warms my heart they found one another. Over an intimate dinner they danced with each other and their parents as the sun set.

Sarah & Derek – Engagement Portraits in Lake TahoeSpooner Lake & Kings Beach

Sarah & Derek love the outdoors. While dating they took a trip to Tahoe and so as it came time to select a location for their wedding they knew immediately they wanted to go to Tahoe. With this space having such a value to them we also waited to photograph their engagement session until the eve of their wedding. They love to hike so we set out to one of the trails they enjoyed on their first trip to the Lake Tahoe area – Spooner Lake. We had a great 2 mile hike and took SOO many photos, chatted, laughed and talked about life. It was truly so special to spend time with them! All that hiking worked up an appetite so we ended our session in Kings Beach for a few lake photos and some ice cream! Yum! This woodsy fall photo shoot was absolute perfection. I love when I get the opportunity to travel with my clients and adventure along side them. Thanks Derek & Sarah for inviting me into your lives and trusting me with your special moments!

Abbey & Andrew – Engagement Session at the StockyardsFort Worth, Texas

December 6, 2016 Engagement

Abbey & Andrew started their story in Fort Worth with a chance meeting. It is Abbey’s hometown and Andrew lived in Fort Worth for work. Although they only knew each other briefly they kept in touch after Andrew moved on to work in California. Sometimes though things are just meant to be and as life happened and things changed in Abbey’s life she got a call for a job in California too and moved out West where she later reconnected with Andrew. Second time was a charm but I have to say that I think they were meant to be after spending an hour with them in front of my camera. These two are positively perfect together and just full of smiles, laughter and sweetness. I loved that they were spending the Thanksgiving holiday together – even before they were married! I was super happy that I got these two to sneak away from the family though for some photos! And can I just say WOW to Abbey’s gorgeous outfit choice – so on trend and fun with beautiful coloring that just made her look stunning (don’t worry Andrew – you looked great to but can you blame me?) Can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Laura & David – Wedding Portraits at Classic Oaks RanchRomantics in Mansfield, Texas

Laura & David are not just super beautiful people on the inside they are also pretty amazing to look at and photograph! I mean look at these two! If the sun had not been setting and I had unending perfect sunset light I might have photographed them for a hour more. Take a peek at their romantic couples portraits on the Classic Oaks Ranch property. We scaled a cattle guard for some gorgeous photos and it was so worth it! I love every part of Classic Oaks from the outdoor chapel, the barn and pastures. Can’t wait to share this fun reception tomorrow!

I LOVE an emotional couple and Laura & David are like my dream clients – these two love each other and are not afraid to show it. David is such a cutie – I mean – look at his reaction (above) as he watched his beautiful Laura walk down the aisle to him! What more can you ask for in a man? Well, that was just the start. This loving man had sweet words and nice gestures all day for his beloved – it made me cry SO many times!!! During the ceremony the vows they had for each other were heartfelt and true and during the ceremony David was SO excited to be marrying his bride he couldn’t stop talking. He wasn’t afraid to speak up and say how beautiful she was, lucky he was and in love with her he was. Their ceremony had me crying, smiling and with goose bumps! Laura was so thoughtful in all she did – from fun custom boots for her groom to perfect gifts for all the parents. During the ceremony and every time she was near him, she was just glowing.

It was a pretty amazing day!

Emilee & Jeff – Wedding Ceremony at Marty Leonard ChapelFort Worth, Texas

November 18, 2016 Ceremony

Emilee & Jeff’s black and white wedding was not just super pretty – it was full of emotional moments that made me get goose bumps and cry happy tears behind my camera. After an sweet first look at the Omni hotel we headed to Marty Leonard Chapel for their wedding ceremony. Emilee got her bridesmaids super fun black and white polka dot umbrella’s by Kate Spade so we had to use them for a photo – so cute! After some photos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen outside the church it was time for their fall nighttime ceremony. The chapel has bright light during the day but at night it is moody and dimly lit and I think it feels very romantic. During the ceremony I don’t think Jeff stopped smiling for an instant – I love his smile – so bright and contagious. Even now I am smiling as I type thinking about his face. 🙂 After the I do’s we were able to capture some night time portraits showing off the architecture and space that makes the Marty Leonard Chapel so beautiful and unique.

Weddings are awesome but they are sure made better by a fab vendor team! Thankfully Emilee had one great team:

Bethany & Tyler met in Dallas through mutual friends and they are already having BIG adventures together as they prepare for their June wedding next summer. Bethany packed up her life here in Dallas and headed to North Carolina so that these two would not be apart while Tyler pursues his MBA. I had such a great time getting to know Bethany & Tyler – they are super sweet and I can tell that this time in their life is so good for them. While at school it is allowing them to have lots of quality time since Bethany is telecommuting to her job here in Texas. I am so excited for all their future holds and their wedding next year. Can’t wait!
