and why you need a planner
When planning your wedding selecting the right location for your celebration is one of the most important steps. Although many find themselves ecstatic to party in a ballroom or non traditional venue others want to be closer to home. Enter private residence weddings! This is a great option for someone who has the space and connection to a property or estate.
When planning a private residence wedding reception there are many things you will need to consider so having an experienced wedding planner is key. Venue’s provide basic needs where as at home you will need to source every portion of your day. Here are a few of the top things that this client had to bring in to turn their family land into a wedding reception space.
Uneven ground outdoors can make it difficult to party! A planner can look at the train and decide if/where staging needs to be build, grounds need to be leveled or if a flooring needs to be brought in.
Lighting outdoors when its a small gathering doesn’t need to be impactful but for a large soiree you want lighting for safety and for ambiance. Seeing your space at dusk/night your wedding planner will be able to make suggestions to light the environment, reception space and other areas guests will need to access. The lighting can be beautiful and practical.
Where is everyone going to park? Bringing in a valet company is a great start but a wedding designer can find a place to park those vehicles so they aren’t the backdrop to your entire day.
Restrooms. I know, it’s not glamorous to talk about but many homes can not accommodate a large number of guests using the facilities throughout the event. A planner can help you assess what you need to bring in, how many and where to place them to not disrupt the aesthetic but be accessible.
What would we do without our wedding planners? I feel they are important no matter where you throw your wedding reception but if planning an out of the box location I don’t think you can do it without them.
