Sarah and Brian’s wedding extravaganza Part 2 includes their sweet romantic portraits, crazy bridal party and a very very very rocking reception!  After the wedding we had the most perfect sunset light and we utilized the phenomenal ceremony view for some bridal party fun.  All the ladies donned pink sunglasses and the boys showed off their striped bright socks for some shenanigans.  After we headed next door to the La Paloma Country Club where Brian works for some photos on the green.  Going into their party everyone was ready to DANCE!  And that we did, all NIGHT long!  See below for more about their fabulous night and of course their highlights slide show!

You know I love some darkness and a light on a stand.  It is fun, challenging and it helps me create some beautiful night portraits.  Love this one above at the entry way to the resort and the below on some sofas in the lobby.

It’s been a few weeks since Sarah & Brian’s wedding and frankly I had a very hard time editing their images.  These two just pulled at my heart strings so selecting images to show as my favorites has been impossible, I wanted to share every single one!  Today I am excited to share their preparations, details and ceremony.

 Amanda, my associate, and I traveled to Tucson for this amazing wedding at the La Paloma Westin Resort.  Destination weddings are always a treat but are hard work as we combine a whirlwind weekend of travel, multiple events and beautiful weddings.  La Paloma is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding with one of the best views in my opinion of the Mountains.   It was a fabulous break from my Texas weddings (Can you tell I was a bit excited about mountains?)  Read on for more about their perfect day and look on the blog next week for part 2 of their wedding images!

I had such a fabulous time in Tucson last weekend with Sarah & Brian.  This couple lives in Tucson and I can’t wait to travel back next year for the wedding!  Sarah is an Arkansas native but lived in Texas for a few years and we became fast friends.  Life moved her on to Arizona where she met Brian who is a Tucson native and when he asked her to marry him while on a trip to Italy earlier this year Sarah thought of me for their wedding.  I am so glad she did as it was great to catch up with her after years of not seeing each other and Brian is a treat.  So many of my couples express that they are nervous and scared about photos, most warm up real quick and Brian was a good example.  By the end of the weekend Brian had thrown in his own ideas and been up for almost anything (he is my kinda guy, Sarah you did good!)  Destination shoots are special in that the two hour, two outfit rules do not apply and we mostly just have fun, hang out and explore.  Part 1 of their rocking session includes our early morning trip to 4th Avenue in Tucson (to avoid the afternoon heat) and our post rain shower walk with their fur babies:  Sadie, Jackson, Coda.  Can’t wait to share more later this week as we explored Mt. Lemon, invaded a skating rink for a quick few photos and enjoyed a dessert sunset.

Cutest Favors with some Hawaii feel

On July 10th this couple were married at the fabulous Outrigger Canoe Club in Waikiki in Hawaii.  It was a beautiful day and sharing it with them makes me feel truly blessed.  Doing a destination wedding I become even closer with my couples and spend allot of time through out the wedding process preparing for their day.  These two had perfect weather, looked amazing and I loved the details and intricate touches.  Here is their day and I can’t wait to see the memories they make in the future.

After an amazing night of fun and dancing it came to an end but their local reception is coming up next weekend so I know they will have a blast then as well.

While I was in Hawaii I didn’t just photograph this great couples nuptials but several events from a welcome dinner at a Japanese Tea House, their rehersal Luau and of course their trash the dress session.  Before I reveal their wedding day images I wanted share a little bit more of their journey in Hawaii to the altar.  Many couples that do have destination weddings want to take advantage of the location with multiple events and portrait sessions.  When working with our destination couples we always photograph your rehearsal dinner free of charge and of course a fun session weather it be splashing in the water or a cool engagement style shoot.

A big thanks to Bliss Bridal who helped us find Stephanie a perfect extra dress so that we could do their unbridled session the day before their wedding.
