Haley – Bridal Portraits at McKinney Cotton Mill

Haley is married!  Therefore I can share these stunning pictures.  Now, if you just perused her wedding day photos you might stop and think, wait, this dress is different.  Well, it is.  Haley, like so many brides, had second thoughts.  Not about Rusty (she knew she picked right on that one) but about her gown.  The dress you see in her wedding photos was her first and RIGHT dress but she bought this one thinking she was going to switch BUT then went back to the first.  I love us ladies, we are so indecisive but to me it just means double the fun with gowns!  I liked both of them and this dress was stunning at The McKinney Cotton Mill.  LOVE!

Kerri – Bridal Portraits at The McKinney Cotton Mill

Kerri and Jase were married over the weekend at Marty Leonard Chapel and Stockyards Station so I can finally share her beautiful portraits.  I am in love with the photo above, so dramatic it feels very sultry.  All of her portraits made me smile behind my camera and it was a true joy to photograph her.  Kerri knew how to work i and her dress was AH-mazing.  McKinney Cotton Mill was the perfect backdrop for her with its rustic vibe and the great sunset light through the windows.

Kelly & Aaron – Engagement Portraits at Historic Post Office & Trinity Park

Kelly and Arron are perfect.  When I met with them I just instantly liked them and I was SO thrilled when the choose me to photograph their wedding.  They are getting married later next year but the Fall is so perfect for engagement portraits so we spent a little time together a few weeks ago.  We checked out a few of my favorite spots near the Historic Post Office downtown and Trinity Park, always a favorite of mine.  I have to admit Aaron is pretty awesome, he put up with my cruelty through out the session as I poked fun at his “modeling” career.  I know we are going to have even more fun at their wedding next year.  2013 is going to be pretty cool.

Morgan & Jason {Engaged} Fort Worth fields and old farmers market

Morgan and Jason are one unique couple.  They are fun and loving and I know their wedding will be a killer party.  How do I know?  They selected to ring in the new year with their wedding and we will be celebrating with them at midnight on December 31st at the Fort Worth Club  and I can’t wait!  They are getting married earlier in the day at First United Methodist in down town but their friends and family have no excuse not to have fun since they have selected a great band and the best venues for thier special party.

This weekend we met up for some engagement photos and hanging out.  Morgan definitely knows the way to Jason’s heart and she found mine too as she came to the session with home baked goods and everyone knows that I love yummy things.  They wanted locations that were relaxed so we headed to one of my favorite oasis’ in down town, Heritage Park right on the Trinity river.  We had beautiful sunrise light and it was absolute perfection.  After we hit up the old farmers market building which with all its burnt red accents perfectly picked up the blue in this couples eyes as well as made Morgan’s waterfall dress pop!  We also ran by a few other favorite spots like the Modern and a warehouse by downtown.  It was great getting to know them, finding out about Morgan’s impressive cooking skills and how Jason is a pro at eating her delicious cuisine.  I love that this couple has been friends for years and that they fell in love at the oh so perfect time and I can’t wait to see them start their lives together and hope to be there for them with future mile stones (Morgan you already promised so expect calls in the future about babies or doggies!)

Andrea & Ben {Married} A Dallas Wedding at Off the Grid

Andrea and Ben were married at Off The Grid in Dallas a few weeks ago.  This day was all about the fun, bright colors, lots of dancing and one incredible family.  Both Andrea and Ben have the sweetest little boys (one each) and it was adorable watching Ben help them get ready, one walking his Mom down the aisle and the other waiting with his Dad at the front for his new Mom (and Dad’s bride!)  I love that they incorporated their kids into the ceremony and did a special sand pouring where each of them had a different color to not only represent the joining of Andrea and Ben but them as a family. Once the ceremony ended the party kicked into high gear as they danced and had way to good of a time.

The had fabulous flowers and details by Tami Winn Events.  My favorite part of the evening was their thumb print guest book, so unique and a great way to truly get a print from all your guests.  Making the dance floor POP was a chandelier rented from Beyond.  Andrea’s look was pulled together from Bliss Bridal and Something You make up artistry.  Rounding out the day were my favorite video team, Turquoise Productions.

Sarah + Evan = Engaged

HalfertyEngBlog_0007

I promised more photos from this fabulous session and here they are!  For those that don’t know the bride in these photos is my very own associate Sarah Bunyard.  She is marrying Evan in January in Grapevine.  Since she is a photographer we had to play around with some different ideas for her shoot and come up with something with a little more spice than a “regular” engagement shoot.  Evan and Sarah both love vintage things and spend tons of time antiquing together.  We thought it would be fun to bring that vintage feel into their shoot.  That led us to select the McKinney Cotton Mill for thier location.  The Cotton Mill is a great spot for those that want something with that open warehouse look, old machinery, doors and beautiful light.   On top of the vintage look we of course went for some classic casual shots and even explored downtown McKinney for a few shots in an antique store.  I love getting to work with fellow artists and Sarah is like a little sister too me so the shoot was very special.  Here are some favorite shots and of course their very loooong slide show (I couldn’t help it, I loved way too many.)
