Ashley & Derek – Dallas Wedding at Royal Lane Baptist Church & Ritz Carlton

June 10, 2015 Ceremony

Thrilled to share this fabulous Dallas wedding today! To say this one was fun would be an understatement – I think every person went home at the end of the night with hurting feet and a very happy heart!

This day was one of those rainy May Saturday’s. Ashley really wanted to be able to have some outdoor photos and we kept watching that forecast so that her and Derek could do their first sight outside at the Ritz Carlton. Right as we were about to get going it went from sunny to rain falling. We held our ground, ducked for cover and watched the radar on our phones as it showed this tiny little blip of showers over downtown Dallas. A few minutes later it passed by and we were blessed with about 20 minutes of glorious sunny skies. Pretty perfect for their first look and a few romantic portraits.

The rest of the day it did indeed rain but that did not put a damper on a touching religious ceremony led by a paster that had know Ashley since she was a toddler. They choose to take communion privately together before the ceremony and it was so beautiful.

Rachael & Colin – Wedding Reception at Marie Gabrielle

After these two said I do it was time for some romantic portraits! Marie Gabrielle Restaurant in downtown Dallas really is a stunning place to get married and I was so thankful the rain stayed away so we had time to capture these two love birds in the gardens. Rachael’s lace gown and all white bouquet were simply elegant next to Colin’s traditional tuxedo. We used up every last little bit of light before heading on inside to the party!

Gro Designs knocked it out of the park with the fabulous floral chandelier hanging above the dance floor. It made the space feel extra special for Rachael & Colin. Their reception was full of good food, laughter and fun as these two celebrated with their closest friends and family. From getting down and dancing to the sparkler send off everyone had a fantastic time.
Congrats to the newlyweds and I can’t wait to hear about your Greece honeymoon!

Rachael & Colin – Wedding Ceremony at Marie Gabrielle

Rachael & Colin’s day was completely blessed. I think every person involved was getting on their knees leading up to this wedding asking God to hold off the rains so that this couple could share their vows in the outdoor garden at Marie Gabrielle in downtown Dallas. The Lord heard those prayers and not only held off the rain for their ceremony but a drop didn’t hit the ground until after their entire celebration came to an end. On top of the praise worthy weather their day was just full of sweet moments and we so enjoyed sharing in it with them.

Meeting up with the ladies for getting ready I kind of fell in love with the thoughtful gift the bridesmaids bestowed upon their friend. Each girl purchased a cookbook for her new home and wrote a note to Rachael in it. I love that for years to come she can pull out those cook books, fill her home with delicious food and remember her wedding day. Way to go ladies!

At the gardens before the ceremony Rachael & Colin shared a moment together with out breaking tradition of seeing one another. Around a pillar they shared wedding gifts and some words to ease their nerves and share their excitement. During the ceremony we laughed that Colin married 2 women as her uncle and minister tripped over his words and called her by her first name once and middle name another time. Every day needs something to tell stories about!

Marysa and James – Engagement Portraits at Botanic Gardens & Sundance Square, Fort Worth

May 12, 2015 Engagement

Marysa & James were one of the lucky ones this month – no rescheduling, no rain and perfect weather! This April & May has been crazy wet so it has gotten in the way of SO many of our couples engagement and bridal photo shoots. One one of our rare perfect days we headed over to the Botanic Gardens of Fort Worth for a romantic stroll and some super cute photos of these two! James is an absolute doll and these two just melt into each other when they are together. You can see and feel the love! The Fuller Garden was lush and green and we had it mostly to ourselves!

After some garden romance we set out to downtown Fort Worth where James proposed to Marysa in Sundance Square. We strolled the streets, hit the ever famous and always needed courthouse for a classic photo before spending some time on the square. The fountains are beautiful but they were being tricky with us! Sometimes they are just a little tricky and other times they are beautiful tall towers of water – we kept waiting for just the right time to snap our photos. Finally we got lucky, got some beautiful images and headed home. Thanks you two for trusting me with your engagement and wedding and I can’t wait to celebrate with you next year!

Celebration de Lamour – A French Picnic styled photo shoot with Tami Winn Events and Brides of North Texas Magazine

This tabletop shoot was one to remember! I love when planners and designers think outside the box and Tami Winn definitely did with this French inspired picnic. The low ground level tables surrounded by posh pillows were so inviting. I adored the bold striped linens, the classic gold and pops of pink. Treats were provided by the Four Seasons Resort with a ruffled cake by Creme de la Creme. This sweet picnic took place with one of my real couples, Kristy & Jared, at the Four Seasons in Dallas Spa Poll Deck. This pocket of pretty green grass, surrounded by trees created a haven for our set and lovely couple. To add to the outdoor vibe we were joined by a little frenchie, a french bulldog that is, Bruiser. Bruiser is the pup of one Dallas’ best DJ’s, Glenn Roush. Thanks to all the vendors who took part in this photo shoot and check it out in the pages of Brides of North Texas Magazine!
