Abbey & Andrew – Engagement Session at the StockyardsFort Worth, Texas

Abbey & Andrew started their story in Fort Worth with a chance meeting.  It is Abbey’s hometown and Andrew lived in Fort Worth for work.  Although they only knew each other briefly they kept in touch after Andrew moved on to work in California.  Sometimes though things are just meant to be and as life happened and things changed in Abbey’s life she got a call for a job in California too and moved out West where she later reconnected with Andrew.  Second time was a charm but I have to say that I think they were meant to be after spending an hour with them in front of my camera.  These two are positively perfect together and just full of smiles, laughter and sweetness.  I loved that they were spending the Thanksgiving holiday together – even before they were married!  I was super happy that I got these two to sneak away from the family though for some photos!  And can I just say WOW to Abbey’s gorgeous outfit choice – so on trend and fun with beautiful coloring that just made her look stunning (don’t worry Andrew – you looked great to but can you blame me?) Can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Monica & Steven {Engaged} Fort Worth Urban & Hay Bales

Friday evening I ran around town with these two love birds and had a blast getting to know them a little better and exploring a new location.  Monica’s one request for her session was hay bales and we got SUPER lucky as the field right by my house was cut and baled the weekend before their session.  I love the tall grass there, the light and that when there are hay bales there are TONS of them.  It was so perfect and just in time as they started hauling them off the following Monday.  We also hit some of my favorite urban spots by the studio as well as a brand new location I found with tons of cool walls and staircases all on the same street.  Love when I find new places just in time for a session.  I just loved the entire session but since I can’t post 100 photos on my blog with out looking excessive here are my favorite 20!

Family & Kids Portraits in Atlanta!

Love this little girl, I could just pinch her.

Most of my clients and readers know I was out of town last week. Nope, not a end of summer vacation.  It was a business trip.  I am super lucky that for me a business trip is the most fun thing in the world because I get to do what I love.  No, I wasn’t shooting a wedding in some super cool place.  I was taking time out to exercise my brain, learn from some fantastic photographers and shoot some kids and families!  I am a firm believer that education can never end and that in order to continue loving what I do and ensuring that you love it too I have to continuously learn new things.

Weddings are most definitely the cornerstone of Tracy Autem &  Lightly Photography but we also love to do portraits.  This year I fell in love with photographing families because my husband and I had our first baby.  It has thrown an entire new dynamic into my life and into the way that I see children and parents.  This workshop in Atlanta allowed me to see portraits in some new lights with some great photographers including: Liana Lehman, Amber Horlitz, Heather Essian, Garrett Nudd & Alice Park.  Each were so different, some very far from what I do and others really close to how I approach my clients.  We had some classroom time and then the best part, shooting!  We had “models” that were real life families from all over the city.  They came to one house with 30 photographers and these kids did great.  I don’t do well with one camera pointed at me so I was super impressed with them and their parents.  Here are some favorite photos from the model sessions.

These little girls were not my "models" but they stole my heart and were not really wanting to coperate with their photographer. I captured this on the fly when the older sister was not that into hugging. I really like it though.

Tiffany & Matthew Engaged!

Steamy and perfect, Tiffany & Mat are such a HOT couple!

Tiffany &  Matthew are getting married this coming October at Hotel ZaZa & Marc Events in Dallas.  These two met in the Fort Worth Stockyards at the Neon Moon Saloon when a concert they both hoped to attend was sold out at Billy Bob’s.  Good thing they couldn’t get those tickets because other wise these two may have never been paired up.  We hit some of my favorite Fort Worth spots as well as the Stockyards to give a nice juxtaposition to the Dallas wedding they are planning.

Tiffany & Matt had these awesome jeans with matching pockets!

Adore this.

Adore This.

mmmmm, perfection

Tiffany has the cutest smile and how could I not love how Matt cuddles with her.

This entire series in the grass blew my socks off. Love it!

Tiffany & Matthew first met at Neon Moon so we had to take a few photos outside it for the memories.

Country rock stars!

I said "make a shape with your bodies in the door" and I got this, I think they did GOOD.

Just Playing
