This reception might be one of the reasons I was so excited to photograph Ragan & Alex’s wedding in the first place! From the moment Ragan shared why they chose the Fort Worth Zoo as their reception venue, I knew this day was going to be something special.

They took a leap and booked a brand-new pavilion that wasn’t even built yet—in the heart of the African Savannah exhibit, overlooking giraffes, hippos, and more. But the real magic? Guests got to feed the giraffes. And the look on Ragan & Alex’s faces during that moment made the wait 100% worth it. Pure joy.

After their up-close animal encounter, the couple headed into a night full of fun: dancing, photo booth memories, a champagne bar with flamingo table numbers, and the cutest animal-themed details. From custom signs to animal crackers at the send-off, Ragan thought of everything to make their wedding feel personal, playful, and unforgettable.

The dance floor was packed thanks to Uptown Drive, and Ragan & Alex even hopped on stage for a few moments before sneaking away for a private last dance—followed by a magical bubble exit under the stars.

It was the perfect celebration for two people who don’t just love each other—but know how to have fun together.
