There’s nothing quite like photographing a love story in New York City—and Allison & Allen’s engagement session was a dream from start to finish. I had the incredible honor of traveling to NYC to document this sweet couple in the city where their relationship began.
Allison and Allen met and fell in love in New York, and though their roots are headed to Texas, it only felt right to capture this chapter of their lives among the history, energy, and iconic views of the Big Apple. In April, they’ll begin a new season with a wedding at Marty Leonard Chapel and a reception at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth—but first, NYC!
We started in Central Park, where we explored Bethesda Terrace and Fountain, strolled through The Mall, and even included their sweet Corgi pup, Andi, in the fun. (Yes, dogs always make it better.) After capturing the romantic, lush side of the city, we hopped on the subway to Brooklyn for unbeatable skyline views at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
It was a day filled with laughter, movement, and moments that were uniquely them. Allen is kind, thoughtful, and brilliant—and Allison is as warm and strong as she is athletic (a marathon runner!). Today also marks their 2-year dating anniversary, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect time to share their session.
Allison & Allen—thank you for inviting me into your life and letting me preserve your New York memories. I cannot wait for your Fort Worth wedding next spring!
