Jennifer and Chad were married on a very rainy day in August at Arborlawn Methodist Church with a reception to follow at The Modern Art Museum.  Jenn is sweet as pie and just has one of those bubbly personalities that brings a smile to your face.  Chad is the chill and laid back guy that makes you feel at ease.  These two are the perfect balance for one another and I loved spending the day with them.  It may have rained but it let up before their farewell allowing us to go downtown for some photos before calling it a day.   Thanks to all the vendors who made their day so picture perfect:

Ashley & Chance were married on May 5th at the Aristide Event Center in Mansfield, Texas.  It was a perfect day and we were so lucky to get to share it with them.  Ashley and her ladies had fun, sipped on mimosas and laughed allot as they prepared for the wedding.  Chance’s daughter joined them in the getting ready room as her Daddy prepped on the other side of the building.  The light was perfect during their outside ceremony and it was completely sweet even if we were all a tad sweaty.    Check back next week for their romantics & reception which was one high energy dance party thanks to the band Limelight.

One of my favorite ring shots ever, I loved that Lucia played on Chance’s name with these Monopoly themed cards that were on cocktail tables.

I loved all the details from the mis-matched vintage vessels that held the flowers, touches of lace, the cake table and the subtle nod to Cinco de Mayo with the sodas and candy from Mexico.  It was perfect.

I love this image as it is truly Ashley’s first moments seeing her groom.  With windy paths so often the center aisle isn’t where the true action is.  This shot through the crowd proves it.

Including Chance’s daughter in their ceremony was important.  Before they said their vows to one another Chance said a few words to his little girl and Ashley presented her with a bracelet.  So sweet.

It’s been a few weeks since Sarah & Brian’s wedding and frankly I had a very hard time editing their images.  These two just pulled at my heart strings so selecting images to show as my favorites has been impossible, I wanted to share every single one!  Today I am excited to share their preparations, details and ceremony.

 Amanda, my associate, and I traveled to Tucson for this amazing wedding at the La Paloma Westin Resort.  Destination weddings are always a treat but are hard work as we combine a whirlwind weekend of travel, multiple events and beautiful weddings.  La Paloma is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding with one of the best views in my opinion of the Mountains.   It was a fabulous break from my Texas weddings (Can you tell I was a bit excited about mountains?)  Read on for more about their perfect day and look on the blog next week for part 2 of their wedding images!

Brian works at the La Paloma Country Club with the Golf Course so we had to brave the 100+ heat for at least one photo on the green.

I was so excited to see Rebecca and Mark 2 weeks ago for their wedding.  These two have a true love for one another and for the entirety of their relationship they have lived in different states, their marriage means they will finally live together, in the same zip code!  I know moving far from home (to Washington DC from Dallas) but she will have her husband and best friend at her side.  They were married at Kessler Park United Methodist in Dallas, we met up with Rebecca and her girls there for preparations before hand.  Her friends were amazingly supportive, funny and gorgeous in their gowns from Alfred Angelo.   During the ceremony it just melted my heart when Rebecca and her Father reached the altar, Mark jumped forward and embraced his Father in Law not once but twice!  It was sweet and it shows just how much these families care for one another.

The reception was one hopping party with music spun by the fabulous Carlton Dixon at Marc Events.  The food was to die for good, always is there, and Rebecca and Mark opted out of the traditional wedding cake and went instead for a cute display of nothing bundt cakes for their guests.  Loved the variety but have to admit that the only flavor I wanted and ate two of was the white chocolate raspberry, yum!  The flowers were provided by Dr Delphinium and it was all pulled together by their coordinator, Dianthe Hall with the Wed Party.

It was such a pleasure to get to know this couple and their families (Rebecca’s Mom is just about the nicest person ever!) and I hope even though you will be living away that as your family grows you will visit us at the studio!

Often times couples ask me what makes for a great wedding and reception.  My answer varries as couples are looking for their parties to feel specific ways but Natalie knew exactly what she wanted and she knew how to get it.  A killer line up of vendors plus 400 guests made for an unforgettable night.   Entertainment has such an impact on the feeling of your reception and Professor D is one of my favorite bands that always brings the excitement from a wide range of songs to fun performances by the horn players.  Tami Winn provided the centerpieces and the bride’s bouquet.  Due to the large number of guests Natalie and Ryan reserved almost every square inch of City Club and Tami decked out the ballroom in magnificent pinks and the Oak Room in TCU purples.  Her towering pink and white bride’s cake and sweet horned frog clad grooms cake were by Creme de la Creme.

I am a bit obsessed with gowns and was SO happy to be photographing a Vera.

That was one great kiss, I totally wasn’t expecting such a dramatic moment but I loved it.

Their first dance was magical and I loved how her dress moved.

At the end of the Father Daughter Dance the band kicked it up a notch.
