Right before Christmas on one fabulously warm day I spent some time with Abbey & Dustin at the Dallas Arboretum & downtown Dallas. These two met working at the same law firm in Dallas. Their paths were meant to cross! They attended the University of Texas Austin together yet never met, after working for awhile though finally their paths crossed and they will be getting married in just a few months! Can’t wait for their wedding at the Adolphus.

This session just makes me giggle and grin. Courtney & Miles met in Dallas and currently live there with their puppy dog – Finley. I had the privilege of taking these two to the Dallas Arboretum and being their tour guide as we took some stunning photos. I can’t believe they have lived in the area so long and had never been! It was the perfect backdrop through – a bit of nature and a touch of elegance to go with their night on the town outfit. Courtney’s dress had the most fabulous sleeves with a peek a boo checkered design. Courtney works at an ad agency and Miles practices corporate law. Although their lives may have them in Dallas today she is a Fort Worth girl through and through so their wedding will be at The Fort Worth Club next summer. Finley – their Husky – joined us for a few photos at White Rock Lake (thanks to Courtney’s Mom for playing dog wrangler!) We found this beautiful pocket of red and yellow autumn leaves and it was just amazing! I love these guys and I am so looking forward to their wedding and working the fab team of Sarabeth Events!

November 10, 2015 Allie and Kane – Engagement Photos at Mitas Vineyard in McKinney
I just don’t know where to start – this session made me so happy, when I came home my face was hurting from smiling so much. Allie and Kane are just the sweetest and kindest couple. Their Momma’s raised them right and raised them together – these two have know each other pretty much as long as they can remember. Kane was always good friends with Allie’s twin sister so as they grew up and he pursued Allie everyone was pleasantly surprised. They are perfect opposites, complimenting one another in every single way. Also they push one another – I love to see that! During the session Kane was egging Allie on singing “Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you.” It was hilarious but man it worked! That push is what helped me get this AMAZING photo above. I suggested we find a way into the creek and Kane’s determination infected Allie and she bravely scaled a incline to get this image.
Allie picked out some adorable outfits – loved her butterfly skirt! The Mitas Hill Vineyard was a beautiful backdrop for their session and was so diverse in spots to photograph. To end the session they both threw on their college t-shirts for some silly casual photos.
This session was fun in every way and when it ended I hated to say goodbye, I just wanted to hang out with them more! I am looking so forward to my next chance to spend time with Allie & Kane at their wedding next year! Congrats you two!

Sometimes our couples live far away and choose to have engagements done at home. We get that BUT we also LOVE getting to know our clients, camera in hand, to better prepare them and us for the wedding day. Getting to know you is so important in helping us create the type of images we are known for – authentic emotional moments. Lauren & Doug live in New York and had a fun session up there in Central Park but they also understood why getting to know me would help, so we got to planning. For their mini session we wanted to think a little outside of the box since they already did a session. Lauren and Doug both love books and she works in the library at an ad agency so we decided to explore a fabulous vintage book store in downtown Fort Worth. Thank you so much Back Door Books for allowing us into your space for a few minutes to create some fun and funky photos! I can’t wait to see these two again at Arlington Hall in Dallas next April.
So excited to share this amazing session! Why? Well, it rocked. Perfect day, perfect light, amazing NEW location and well, a super cute couple!!! These two have been together LONGER than my husband and I. Yep, I have almost 10 years with my hubby (and 3 kids) and these two are over a decade and just about to say I do! That is some major practice in patience right there. Well, starting out in high school, through college, law school and more these two are completely in love. Watching Brady just smile and love on her was kinda beautiful. On top of all their awesomeness the vineyards was gorgeous. Jill & Brady will be getting married here next year and it is owned by her Grandfather. If you are looking for a vineyard location for a wedding in the Dallas Fort Worth area this one can not be beat!
