Darby & Justin – Fort Worth Engagement SessionBotanic Gardens & Trinity Trails

So excited that I got to photograph Darby & Justin’s engagement session!  I was part of their proposal story back in January and I am pumped to be photographing their wedding at Justin’s family ranch next May!  These two have been dating almost 4 years, they met in College Station while attending A&M.  Now these two are moving to Houston and putting down roots there while planning a wedding.  These two love to spend time outdoors, with their pup of course, and going on trips together.  Can not wait for their wedding next year!

Alyssa & Ken – Engagement Portraits in DallasWinspear & Deep Ellum

Meet Ken & Alyssa!  These two connected online, met for coffee and have been inseparable for 4 years.  After spending a few hours with them last week I can vouch that they are perfectly suited for each other.  Both having interests in gaming and the intellectual side of things I am sure they have deep conversation and lots of laughs.  These two were engaged in Cabo San Lucas on Christmas Eve 2 years ago, he had the ring in his pocket, she joked about it being the perfect place to pop the question, and he asked!  I love that they are so in tune!  I can’t wait for their fall wedding at Arlington Hall – they are going to have a fun laid back cocktail style reception with so many diverse activities and pieces of unique entertainment.  I am counting down!

Thanks Alyssa & Ken for hanging out with me last week – I had the best time!

Aly & Travis – Engagement Portraits at Chandor GardensWeatherford, Texas

I am SO excited about Aly & Travis’ Fall wedding at Classic Oaks Ranch!  These two are so fun together and I loved photographing their engagement session at Chandor Gardens.  Travis picked the location for it’s lush gardens and this beautiful colonnade area.  He liked how southern it felt and it fits this charm filled couple to a tee!  These two met through a dating ap and have been together 3 years now.  Travis planned a perfect proposal and totally took Aly by surprise:

“I was told that a group of us were going to Colorado for 2 days, but we were actually going to Napa. Everyone else knew about the proposal but me. We are at our third winery of the day, Amizetta, and it is gorgeous, way up in the mountains and you can see the ocean from there and all this land and rolling hills. We are in the middle of our wine tour and the guide says if we want to walk around and try some grapes from the vine that we can. Travis drags me down the hill and I keep asking “why are you going so far, why can’t we try these grapes” he takes my wine glass out of my hand and starts talking and next thing I know he is on his knee proposing to me. I couldn’t even speak, I was just nodding my head and crying and laughing. He couldn’t get the ring out of his pocket because his pants were too tight so we hear our friends from the top of the hill “did she say yes?!?!” It was amazing.” – Aly

Their wedding day is going to be even more amazing with a fabulous vendor team featuring some of my faves – Tami Winn Events, in10city & Magdalena’s!  Can’t wait for October!

Summer & Landon – Engagement Session at Botanic GardensFort Worth, Texas

Summer &  Landon met while working at the same school and they instantly hit it off.  I love how these two just melt into each other and the way that Landon looks at Summer.  They bring the heat!!!  Summer wore a gorgeous red dress for their session and Landon looked so dapper in his suit.  We spent their session at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth and this tree was my PLACE!  Oh my, like I could shoot an entire session with these puffy little cloud flowers.  I can’t wait for their wedding this summer at The Modern Art Musem with the Tami Winn team.

Rachel & Micah – Engagement Session at Fort Worth ParksFW Water Gardens

Rachel & Micah are getting married later this summer and I can’t wait for their wedding at the Kimbell Art Museum.  These two met through a mutual friend who told them they had to meet each other – after a few months they finally met and a year later they are planning a wedding.  These two are super busy professionals so Micah has been taking lead on wedding planning while Rachel is working through a busy physician residency.  When not working these two love to hike, visit family and spend time together.  See you guys in a few months!

Jacy & Bobby – Engagement Session at Fort Worth ParksBoaz & Tandy Hills

Jacy and Bobby have been together since high school.  These two met freshman year and were instantly best friends, attached at the hip – but Jacy knew she liked Bobby more than just friends.  Bobby, like most high school boys was oblivious at first but eventually they had their first kiss and have been together ever since!  Now it’s time to get married!  These two love to take photos and have many times over the years.  In fact Bobby used a photo session as cover for his proposal, here is their will you marry me story:

“His family had just taken a group picture (which was an excuse to have his whole family there) and they were helping us take ours. One person was shading the camera, one was holding the camera bag, and the rest were just watching. In one of the photos, he knelt down and had the ring. It was perfect!! Both of our families were there and I loved it.”

I can’t wait to celebrate with these two at BRIK this summer!

Kathryn & John – Proposal Story at Marty Leonard ChapelFort Worth, Texas

Net year I will get to hang out in this very spot with Kathryn & John as they say I do!  John and Kathryn’s Mom had to pull allot of strings and tell many fibs to get Kathryn to the chapel for a “tour.”  They live outside of the Texas area and they have been planning and discussing getting  married for awhile – little did she know that while she thought she was coming to look at a possible ceremony location that her Mom & John had already made plans.  John wanted to propose where they would be married – so Kathryn said yes when he asked and next year they will both say I DO!  Once she said yes their families and a few close friends came out of hiding to celebrate with them and we took some engagement photos outside the chapel!  These two and their families are so sweet and such amazing people to be around – I know their wedding is going to be AWESOME!

Janie & Alex – Engagement Portraits at Sundance Square & Nature ParkFort Worth, Texas

I just adore Alex & Janie!  From the moment they walked into my office I just clicked with them and wanted to photograph their wedding!  Thankfully they said yes to me and last week on a beautiful winter day we explored Fort Worth for their engagement session.  These two met in math class at TCU and fell in love almost 4 years ago.  They will be getting married this fall at Whiskey Ranch!  After their session I am even  more excited for this wedding – they love each other fiercely.  Watching them together gave me goosebumps!  Centering their relationship is a strong foundation in Christ – this last year has been an adventure as they have been waiting on the what’s next for their lives.  I see how they have been called into this time in preparation for their marriage – this relationship is going to do great things!  Love you guys and can’t wait to hear your vows, watch you walk the aisle and celebrate with you both.

Darby & Justin – Proposal Story at Studio SabkaFort Worth, Texas

I love weddings!  But the wedding starts with the proposal and I am always so excited to get the opportunity to photograph the moment when He says will you marry me and she says YES!!!!

A few weeks ago Darby’s Dad called me about photographing the upcoming engagement of his daughter.  I photographed one of his other daughter’s weddings a few years ago so I was so happy that I was available and able to work with this family again.

Darby is a budding artist, she loves to paint.  Her fiancé Justin orchestrated one of the most touching and thoughtful proposals.  He told her they were going to be attending a painting class together at Studio Sabka in downtown Fort Worth.  Little did she know while they had a delicious dinner their family and friends were transforming this gallery into a showing of her paintings!  When they walked in she was surrounded by her very own art and Justin dropped to one knee as he asked her to marry him.  She said YES! Then their family and friends cheered and enjoyed a lovely eating toasting champagne, admiring her new bling and telling her all the times they had to lie to her that week to keep the secret.

Before taking the party to her parents house Darby & Justin headed over to the Modern Art Museum with me to take some engagement portraits with the holiday lights.  It was gorgeous!  Thanks Darby & Justin for letting me tell you story and best of wishes in all your wedding planning and your marriage!

Kelly & Garrett – Engagement Session in Highland Park & Trinity GrovesDallas, Texas

Kelly & Garrett are an awesome couple that was brought together through mutual friends for a night out in Dallas.  These two clicked immediately and when it came time for Garrett to propose to Kelly he knew just what to do – he took them back to their beginning to start their next new chapter.  Here is their proposal story in Kelly’s words:

“Garrett decided that for the proposal, he wanted to go back to where it all began. He planned lunch for him and I at a restaurant inside the Joule Hotel with his brother, Kenny, and sister-in-law, Hilary, disguised as an early birthday celebration for me. After brunch Garrett suggested we pop down to Midnight Rambler for a drink before we were supposed to head to Fort Worth for “a friend’s house warming party.” As we walked down the stairs to Midnight Rambler there was a sign with our names and the date on it. He sat me down at the table where we first met and proposed. He then admitted that there really was no house warming party, and instead we were going to my parent’s house in Fort Worth to celebrate with them and his brother and sister-in-law. Once we arrived at my parent’s house, all of our out of town family surprised me! We got to spend a few hours there reliving the moment and drinking champagne, and he then convinced me we were all going to Joe T’s to continue the celebration for dinner. Upon arriving at Joe T’s, Garrett surprised me again as he had several of our best friends come in town to celebrate our engagement! If you can’t tell by now he is quite the planner!” – Kelly

Isn’t he the sweetest?!?  I just love that he made sure to include their close family and friends and that they took the party from Dallas to her home in Fort Worth to see those special people and celebrate!  Their story began and is running it’s course in Dallas but next year they will say I do in Fort Worth and I can’t wait!  For their session we spent time in the classic Highland Park area before hitting up Trinity Groves and capturing some sunset vibes with the Dallas skyline in the background.
