I think Part 2 of Brandi & TJ”s engagement session may include some of my favorite photos from their day. They are filled with themes and a little silly, like the couple. Having a theme at your engagement session is in no way a requirement. In fact very few of my couples like to bring in specific props and view points. When they do it gives me a road map to play with though and I always enjoy that. It is also artistically a challenge as I have to find a way to bring their concepts to life.
Brandi & TJ both love the movies and specifically Star Wars. From the very start they joked about lightsabers but I fully encouraged it and they were bought and a duel did ensue at their session. These two met with Brandi in TJ’s chair as he was (and always will be) her hairdresser. They wanted to play on that and do a switch – a roo with her holding the scissors for a change. We shot this role reversing scene at Magnolia Ave Salon where TJ styles hair. I created a one of a kind Entertainment Weekly magazine cover featuring their favorite movie and a save the date and we just played!
I love you both and can’t wait to photograph you again…..oh and TJ, my hair badly needs to be done. 🙂 See you Wednesday for my hair appointment! (I trust you more than Brandi with those scissors.)
