Kerri and Jase were married over the weekend at Marty Leonard Chapel and Stockyards Station so I can finally share her beautiful portraits.  I am in love with the photo above, so dramatic it feels very sultry.  All of her portraits made me smile behind my camera and it was a true joy to photograph her.  Kerri knew how to work i and her dress was AH-mazing.  McKinney Cotton Mill was the perfect backdrop for her with its rustic vibe and the great sunset light through the windows.

Ashley and Travis were married earlier last year and unfortunately I was unable to photograph their wedding but I was lucky enough to be asked to capture their engagement portraits as well as these fun day after “romantic” style portraits in their wedding attire.  It is always so much fun to get to spend time with a couple after their wedding day with no time constraints or limitations.  Penn Farm at Cedar Hill State Park was the perfect location for their portrait with it historic vintage barns and rustic country feel.  It was great to hear all about their wedding and their adventures since tying the knot, can’t wait to see what they have ahead of them!

I love ranch weddings and I am so excited to see more and more beautiful ranch’s opening up their gates to brides and grooms.  Classic Oaks Ranch is a new wedding and reception venue in Mansfield, Texas and I fell in love as soon as I drove through the gates.  I was greeted by a few camels, rolling landscape with oak trees and some beautiful cattle.  The ranch is 230 acres and is a working cattle and equestrian facility.

Their ceremony spot is a natural altar between two towering Oak Trees.  Also on site is an 18,000 square foot climate controlled event barn with a stone fireplace, a bridal suite including a fully equipped salon, groom lounge, guest accommodations, and a 2,500 square foot party pavilion.  It is breathtaking and the perfect place for a rustic vintage ranch wedding.

I was thrilled to be invited by the owners of the ranch and Gold Dust Vintage to participate in a photo shoot to show off their recently renovated facility.  We were joined by Daniel Troupe of Lynn Films who captures our shenanigans on film and gives you a much better feel for the flow and vibe at Classic Oaks.  All of our vintage rentals were provided by Gold Dust Vintage, they have an fantastic array of items for rent for any event.  Twigs Floral provided all of our flowers.  My favorite bridal salon, Bliss Bridal, provided our two gowns.  Todd Bush, with Oliver’s Fine Foods, brought us some scrumptious items to complete our head table.  May I serve you provided table linens and other rentals and Lucia Bitnar with Foster Blue helped style the day.  Paper products provided by Inviting Ink.

Kerri and Jase are getting married right after the new year so their wedding is sneaking up on us quick!  They joined me at Penn Farms in Cedar Hill State Park after my family mini sessions for their engagement session.  We had amazing light and perfect weather, who could ask for anything more?  They brought along their puppy, Will.  Will has played an important role in their relationship.  Jase bought Kerri the puppy and used him to propose with a name tag with “Will” on one side and “you marry me?” on the other.  I love it being the dog lover that I am.  Such a good idea!  Here is their engagement slide show and some of my favorites from their session!

I am a little excited about these bridal portraits.  I have been chomping at the bit to share them because I love this bride, this location and well it was kind of a perfect combination.  Rachel has a background in drama and the theater so from the moment I met her I knew an old vintage theater would be THE place for her bridals.  It took some major string pulling and praying but we got what I wanted and were able to photograph at The Majestic in downtown Dallas.  It could not have been more perfect and I think it definitely goes on the list of favorite places to shoot.
