This week has been a busy one but it has been SO much fun to hang out with all my couples.  So often we shoot our engagement sessions in Fort Worth but Shane & Jennifer elected to do their shoot in Dallas.  It was cool because it gave me the chance to check out a few new locations like the Bishop Arts District and the Avanti Fountain.  We of course also hit some of my old but good spots in and around Deep Ellum.  Shane & Jennifer and getting married in September at The Piazza in the Village and I am so excited to be working with them.  Jennifer and her Mom totally impressed me at their consultation and man do these girls have it together.  They have done some wedding and party planning in the past so when it came time for Jennifer to tie the knot I think her and her Mom were full of an abundance of ideas.  I didn’t get to meet Shane until the engagement session but he is a super sweet guy and totally in love with his girl.  Here are some images from their fun Dallas Engagement Shoot!

serene perfection

Veronica & Robert were married last weekend and Sarah Rizy and I just had an amazing time with them.  They had a mid-afternoon wedding at St Andrews Episcopal followed by a sit down dinner at City Club Fort Worth were everyone had a great time.  I think by the end of the day we had all cried just a bit as it was such a touching day with beautiful and funny toasts, parent dances and just an amazing amount of love between these two families.  Veronica and Robert were high school sweethearts and have been together about 8 years so it was most definitely a day all had looked forward to for a long time.  Many of my couples have late afternoon and evening weddings but I always love early weddings as it allows for very different light through out the day.  Because of the timing we had plenty of time to snag some photos outside the church and off Lancaster by a historic building before heading to the reception.  We ended their day with a few photos as the sun was starting to set in a field in Fort Worth after the getaway.  Then Robert whisked Veronica off to a secret location for their first night as husband and wife before heading out on their honeymoon.  Here are some beautiful moments and romantics from their daytime wedding!

Married!

This day was all about the moments.  I love documenting what happens at weddings and for Ashley and Matt that is what I did.  The day started off at the Warwick Hotel in Dallas where we photographed Ashley and her girls getting ready.  Ashley is absolutely stunning but when I met her Mom and Grandma I could see not only where she got her looks but her amazingly sweet personality.  Her Grandma had me just grinning ear to ear because she was so full of joy!  Ashley had a drop dead gown by Pronovias, one of my favorite designers.  Sarah Rizy headed off to Maple Manor where the ceremony was held to catch some getting ready photos of the guys before we sequestered Matt away as Ashley arrived leading up to the ceremony.  It may have been hot last weekend but everyone braved it and it was well worth it as we had a pretty blue sky and a touching ceremony.  Matt is all about dipping Ashley so I was ready for it and captured it right after their first kiss as man and wife and before Ashley threw up her arms in victory at becoming Mrs. Hensley!  Here are some photos of their Dallas Wedding with part 2 coming soon highlighting their non-stop dance party reception and highlights slide show.

One of her girls gave her this thoughtfull gift to hang her dress on and I just loved it! Want one for your wedding day? They can be found on Etsy.com, the hanger for your dress is one of the most overlooked details that I wish all brides would think of.

They agreed not to get each other wedding gifts but wrote love notes to one another. Ashley broke the rule a bit and included a crochet hook so he could help her out of her dress later that night. Those buttons can be a nightmare with out one!

I just love how her Dad tried to help her with her gown as she reached the bottom of the stairs and the look she steals at him as she walks down the aisle.

I loved that as the minister welcomed everyone these two had to sneak a peek at one another.

Seconds after being married, Mr & Mrs Matt Hensley getting to chat for the first time. Ah, love.

Last weekend I had so much fun with Laura and Jeff at their wedding at the Ashton Depot.  We really lucked out and my streak of no rain on outside weddings stayed true as DFW dodged the storms.  I think that Laura & Jeff need to throw an outdoor party every year the weekend of Mayfest in Fort Worth as we seem to have broken the Mayfest weather curse.  Laura saw a wedding show with fuchsia and greens and it inspired their bright colored and beautifully designed decor.  Tara Wilson Events coordinated and made Laura’s vision come true.  Lovely lighting by Beyond, formerly light Dallas, scrumptious cake by Sublime Bakery & flowers by The Enchanted Florist.  I love, love, LOVED the romantics and that we had ample time to get some beautiful shots of the two of them while her guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio.  Here are some of my favorite images, their slide show and of course their fabulous details!

February was a cold month here in Texas but Lacy & Gabe met up with me on one of the nicer days for their engagement session at the Fort Worth Stockyards.  These two are getting married in May out in Sulphur Springs and are having a very relaxed and fun Texas wedding.  Here are some favorites from their shoot along with their engagement slide show.
