The night before a wedding sets the tone — and Libby & Jonathan set theirs to full Texas.

They gathered everyone at Clay Pigeon in Fort Worth, chef Marcus Paslay’s warm brick-and-wood room that feels like a dinner party you never want to leave. The whole night leaned into their story: a little Western, a lot of heart, and details you couldn’t help but grin at.

Guests found their seats by way of hand-painted cowboy boots — mint green, lined up on the wall like the best kind of scavenger hunt. There was a hat bar from Wild Knox, where Libby & Jonathan gifted every guest a custom cowboy hat to wear all weekend. And the bar menu? Signature cocktails named after their dogs, complete with little painted portraits. I photograph a lot of rehearsal dinners — that one made me laugh out loud.

Blossoms on the Bricks filled the room with autumn: blush and white blooms, deep rust & trailing greenery, all glowing against candlelight and Clay Pigeon’s exposed brick. Even the favors were monogrammed. Nothing was an afterthought.

And then there was the dress. Libby wore her mother’s gown, reimagined and restyled into something entirely her own — old love, made new. If you want to understand this couple in a single detail, it’s that one.

Libby & Jonathan, this night was so you — generous, funny, and full of the people who love you. Thank you for letting me be in the room for it. Fort Worth doesn’t host many parties this good.
