Allison & Michael – Wedding Reception at The Ashton DepotFort Worth, Texas

The Ashton Depot looked STUNNING for Allison & Michael’s wedding reception.  Allison wanted her decor to be romantic and soft and garden like even though indoors and Tami Winn delivered with custom built table halo’s and so much more.  The Ashton Depot is always a favorite place of mine to photograph because I feel like my weddings there always look different! The space allows for so much customization and the building itself is gorgeous!

During cocktail hours and dinner the Dallas String Quartet entertained guests and the bubbly bar made sure no one was lacking a beverage.  After enjoying dinner the couple kicked off their night with toasts, cake and dancing!  Glenn Roush with LeForce Entertainment kept the dance floor fun and full as everyone celebrated Allison & Michael’s wedding.  These two were never far apart and spent the evening visiting with friends between dances.  Before the night ended we snuck out for a few  night time portraits with the downtown lights as a backdrop.  It’s so fun to get some night portraits!  Allison & Michael had a fun vintage car for their exit and we snagged some photos with it as well!

Congrats Allison & Michael!  Thank you for inviting me into your love story.  I sincerely wish we could do it all again – it was just that much fun!  I can’t wait to see the strong marriage you will walk in, the family you will build and the adventures you will go on.  Life is just beginning!

This couple had one amazing team of wedding vendors to make this day happen. Thanks to all of them!

Allison & Michael – Wedding Ceremony at Robert Carr ChapelTCU Campus, Fort Worth

Allison and Michael are married!  After 3 years of dating Michael asked Allison to marry him and now they are husband and wife starting their happily ever after with a fabulous European honeymoon (I was following every step of their trip this month and just so excited for them!). I love that travel is a part of their lives and Michael even proposed on a trip!  Here is their will you marry me story:

“We had been dating for almost 3 years before Michael got down on one knee. Michael proposed to me on 8/10/2016 on a family trip to Aspen. He planned a lovely picnic in evening with my family in music park with wine, crackers, and cheese. I was completely off guard when he surprised me with him down one knee. We will have been engaged for one year and ten months (on our wedding day)” – Allison

Michael has one of my favorite smiles ever.  Yep, ever.  When he sees Allison that smile just takes over and the joy Michael has is contagious!  When she walked down the aisle on her Daddy’s arm he looked so fully happy!  I said in my first post that Allison picked a man of character, like her Daddy.  There is no more proof than if you scroll down and check out the photos of her Daddy right before he gives her away and Michael right after he accepts his bride.  They both are looking at Allison with so much admiration, it’s undeniable that she is loved by both of them.

Thank you to everyone for pouring into this day!  This Fort Worth Wedding was amazing!

Lauren & Richard – Wedding Reception at Rivercrest Country ClubFort Worth, Texas

Lauren and Richard have huge hearts!  Not just for each other but their friends, family and community!  I love that this couple spends there free time with friends but also being active in their community.  From volunteering with Make a Wish and the Union Gospel Mission these two care about people and that makes them even more special as a couple.  You can see that they get a huge return on how they love by the love given to them.  At their reception there was not doubt that everyone in their lives was excited to celebrate them!  They had friends travel in from all over the US and abroad to party with us!

Their roots are deep in community and it’s no surprise because these two have known one another since high school!  They began as good friends then best friends before it grew into a beautiful romance.  Here is a little bit about there beginning!

“We officially met in freshman geometry class, but our story didn’t progress into a high school sweetheart-type of story. We did, however, become best friends. We went to prom together junior year of high school, but not with the intention as going as more than friends. In fact, if you told either one of us in high school that we’d be getting married one day, we probably would have told you that you were crazy.
We remained friends throughout college and post-grad, both graduating from different colleges in 2012 and moving back to Fort Worth shortly thereafter. We began hanging out almost instantaneously, again, just as friends.
In November 2013, one of my (Lauren’s) colleagues was celebrating her last day at work before moving to Portland, Oregon, and we decided to go to Billy Bob’s that night to see Cory Morrow play so she could check a concert off her Fort Worth-themed bucket list. Richard and one of our other friends ended up joining us and meeting that group of my friends for the first time. Jessica, the girl who was moving, was the one who pulled him aside and said she could tell he had feelings for me and encouraged him to tell me. He did, in fact, share those feelings that night, and even though my initial response was, “oh,” it didn’t take long for me to come around, and I’m so thankful I did. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

Their weddings was one of my favorites this year because I had the rare chance to have 6 Tracy Autem Photography couples in one place.  Lauren and Richard have great friends and I have been so lucky to get to know all of them and their precious families.  Of course we had to grab a photo all together!  Check out toward the end of the post for a pic with all 13 of us!  Thanks Lauren & Richard for inviting me to be a part of your day, it was one fun night I will never forget!

Shout out to all the wedding vendors who made this Fort Worth Wedding fun filled and beautiful!

Lauren & Richard – Wedding Ceremony at St. Patrick’s CathedralFort Worth, Texas

Lauren & Richard are a super special couple to me – they are the 6th among their friend group to tie the knot that I have been able to photograph!  It’s so fun to go on these journeys with my couples and to be reunited all together to celebrate another one of their friends getting married. These two have amazing friends, family and a love for each other that is beautiful to watch.  They selected Rivercrest Country Club in Fort Worth for their wedding reception because they spend allot of time there, live nearby and it is where Richard proposed!  It’s also where we chose to have their first look so that we could capture images on the golf course on their wedding day.  I loved that when we headed outside for their big reveal that there was so few people around, it was so private and perfect for them!  Here is their Rivercrest Country Club proposal story:

“One of our favorite things to do is take our dog, Echo, on walks, especially in places where he doesn’t have to be on a leash because he loves to chase tennis balls and squirrels. For that reason, and because the River Crest golf course is such a short distance away, we generally take him there on Mondays when the club is closed or when it’s getting dark and golfers are finished playing. This particular walk after work didn’t seem out-of-the-ordinary because the weather was nice, and it was a Monday. I think I had even asked Richard the day before if we could take Echo for a walk the next day.
He called me around 5 p.m. Monday to let me know he was leaving work and to come over when I was ready. That’s generally earlier than he usually leaves work, but work had been particularly stressful for him the few weeks prior, so when he phrased it as just being a long day and he needed to go home, I didn’t think anything of it. I was so not suspicious, in fact, that I took my time getting there and even tried helping him with laundry when I got there. After rushing me out the door because “Echo had been waiting for so long and was so excited,” I told him every detail about my day and didn’t let him get in any of the sweet words he had planned to say on the walk over. It even took me a few seconds to realize he was actually on his knee asking me to marry him, not just tying his shoe. It turns out that he was rushing me out the door because his mom had been hiding behind a tree in someone’s yard for about 30 or 40 minutes so she could capture photos of that moment.”

She said yes at the country club and then they celebrated their I do there!  It was perfect!  They said their I Do at St. Patricks Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth.  The church has a special place in their hearts, they attend there together and have grown spiritually as a couple there.  It is also their family church, Richard’s Grandfather attended there as a child and was an altar boy almost 90 years ago!

Thank you to everyone who made their wedding so special!

Stephanie & Connor – Wedding Reception at River Crest Country ClubFort Worth, Texas

One of the things that Stephanie & Connor were looking forward to most is a stop by his family home before the reception for some portraits of the two of them.  We made it happen and it was Oh so beautiful at sunset.  With those views in the middle of the city and a perfect evening we couldn’t pass it up!

After their time alone they headed to the party where the couple was excited to welcome their guests from Texas and beyond!  Fort Worth is now Stephanie’s home and sharing it with their family and friends was special!

These two have waited 7 years to say I do and I just love the story of their relationship:

“Connor and I met in freshman year at Harvard during the Fall. We were living in the same dormitory and introduced through a mutual friend. Connor was hosting a video game tournament and I tagged along with a few of my guy friends. From there, he asked for my phone number and after months of being friends we started dating in the Spring. We have dated for more than 7 years!” – Stephanie

So sweet, these two are just meant to be.  Stephanie gave a not to Connor’s love of things intellectual with a super fun Star Wars themed grooms cake complete with light sabers!  The decor for this wedding was breathtaking.  Bella Flora did a fabulous job with the floral halo’s over the head table and all of the rental furniture and decor.  It was a remarkable night with a ton of fun on the dance floor too as Emerald City kept the party rocking!

Thanks to every vendor who made this Fort Worth wedding amazing!

Ragan & Alex – Wedding Ceremony at Saint Stephen Presbyterian ChurchFort Worth, Texas

Ragan & Alex are married!  Their ceremony at St Stephen’s was beautiful and I had the best seat in the house!  From my little hidden spot I got to see all the smiles, shared glances and their faces as they said their vows.  I always think I am the luckiest guest!  After saying I do we enjoyed the courtyard and architecture of the church before boarding Molly the Trolly to head to the Fort Worth Zoo for the reception!

Callie & Ryan – Wedding Portraits at Marty Leonard Chapel & The ModernFort Worth, Texas

Our time for romantic portraits with Callie and Ryan was amazing!  We had little pockets of time throughout the evening allowing us to make the best of all their wedding ceremony and reception locations!  At Marty Leonard Chapel we caught the beginning of some lovely golden light before heading to The Modern to get those last moments right before sunset.  I love the area behind the museum as the reflecting pool and unique architecture make a spectacular background.  Then after some dancing and dinner we swept these two into the galleries for some unique images with the artwork.  It was so fun!

Laura & Dave – Wedding Portraits at Highland Park UMC & George W. Bush CenterDallas, Texas

These two are just head over heels in love – Read on about their proposal story if you want to know just how sweet Dave is and how much Laura loves him – so much so that the ring didn’t even register – she just said YES!!!

“So early afternoon on Easter Sunday 2017, we went to UT’s campus. Being an A&M grad, I wasn’t too excited to walk around UT’s campus “just for fun”, but after hearing all of Dave’s stories about his time on the newspaper staff and the tower I knew it was important to him. We started off the “tour” in the parking garage of the UT Co-Op (huge store with all UT gear, clothing, books, etc.), but to Dave’s disappointment, they were closed since it was Easter. While waiting for the elevator to go the ground floor, I stuck one of my hands down his side pockets to keep my hand warm (as I had done in the past), but he jerked my hand out super fast —— but not before one of my fingers had grazed something that slightly felt like an edge of the bottom of a ring. It took me a few seconds to process what had happened, but once I realized what I MIGHT have felt, I started to freak out internally.

From there we took a tour around UT’s campus, walking through their student center, going by his freshman year dorm, trying to get up into the Tower library, etc…. Since it was Easter Sunday though, everything was basically closed, so we probably took about 7 restroom breaks in a span of 30 minutes — partially because he was trying to stall, but then also because I was trying to calm myself down and convince myself he wasn’t about to propose (because why would he do that to an Aggie on UT’s campus)…oh little did I know.

Unbeknownst to me, he had told his brother the day before that he was going to propose and that he wanted for him to help capture pictures of him getting down on one knee. I found out later that he initially had wanted his brother to be hidden to capture “surprise” pictures, but since we were “so ahead of schedule”, Dave ended up telling me that we were just going to be meeting his brother at the tower around 1:00pm to take him to lunch. So, as we walk up to the tower, I see his brother decked our in all black clothing and a wide brimmed fishing hat. I was still in denial and decided that his brother was just someone who had very interesting fashion choices. Dave asked if we could take a few pictures in front of the tower just to show that I had been on UT’s campus” and I had even said “Sure, as long as you don’t post them anywhere for other people to see.” (jokes on me). Obviously halfway through the pictures he knelt down, asked me to marry him, and I said yes to becoming Mrs. Player without any hesitation.

My favorite part of our proposal video is how I immediately say “YES!” and kiss Dave as soon as he finished saying “Will you marry me?” (maybe even a second before he does), but then Dave responds by saying: “YOU DIDN’T EVEN LOOK AT THE RING!” Which to be fair, all i cared about was getting to marry him, so who can blame me!”

Christy & Mark – Wedding Portraits at St Patricks, Art Museum & StockyardsFort Worth, Texas

Christy and Mark were so excited to get married at St Patrick’s Cathedral, its a lovely historic church that resembles the church that Mark’s parents were married.  These two love family, friends and value relationship and I can totally see how they honored those feelings through out their wedding day.  After the ceremony we took advantage of the break between ceremony and reception and traveled Fort Worth by bus for some fun photos at the art museums and the Stockyards.  The couple both wore cowboy boots so the stockyards were the perfect place for some fun pics with the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  Christy’s boots are super fun, the white Luchesse boots like the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders wear!
