Jennifer & Stephen – Engagement Portraits at Winspear Opera House & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

Tracy Autem 2015

I am on the edge of my seat in anticipation for this wedding next Spring.  Stephen and Jennifer and super fun together and I had a blast photographing them last week.  These two met in high school but started dating just a few years ago.  Now they find themselves living in Dallas and getting married in San Antonio next year.  These two together are pretty much the best.  I love Stephen’s silly faces and how he knows exactly how to make Jennifer smile.  We explored the Winspear Opera House area near downtown Dallas and Jen rocked a statement cobalt blue dress that made her eyes and hair pop!  After a little city we went for a total opposite vibe near White Rock Lake.  With their sweet golden pup in towe we snuggled up in the grass and had some fun with gorgeous sunset light.  Congrats Jennifer & Stephen!  So excited for you two!

Courtney & Miles – Engagement Portraits at Dallas Arboretum & White Rock Lake

Tracy Autem 2015

This session just makes me giggle and grin.  Courtney & Miles met in Dallas and currently live there with their puppy dog – Finley.  I had the privilege of taking these two to the Dallas Arboretum and being their tour guide as we took some stunning photos.  I can’t believe they have lived in the area so long and had never been!  It was the perfect backdrop through – a bit of nature and a touch of elegance to go with their night on the town outfit.  Courtney’s dress had the most fabulous sleeves with a  peek a boo checkered design.  Courtney works at an ad agency and Miles practices corporate law.  Although their lives may have them in Dallas today she is a Fort Worth girl through and through so their wedding will be at The Fort Worth Club next summer.  Finley – their Husky – joined us for a few photos at White Rock Lake (thanks to Courtney’s Mom for playing dog wrangler!)  We found this beautiful pocket of red and yellow autumn leaves and it was just amazing!  I love these guys and I am so looking forward to their wedding and working the fab team of Sarabeth Events!

Allie and Kane – Engagement Photos at Mitas Vineyard in McKinney

Engagement Session Mitas Hill Vineyard Tracy Autem Photography-0013

I just don’t know where to start – this session made me so happy, when I came home my face was hurting from smiling so much.  Allie and Kane are just the sweetest and kindest couple.  Their Momma’s raised them right and raised them together – these two have know each other pretty much as long as they can remember.  Kane was always good friends with Allie’s twin sister so as they grew up and he pursued Allie everyone was pleasantly surprised.  They are perfect opposites, complimenting one another in every single way.  Also they push one another – I love to see that!  During the session Kane was egging Allie on singing “Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you.”  It was hilarious but man it worked!  That push is what helped me get this AMAZING photo above.  I suggested we find a way into the creek and Kane’s determination infected Allie and she bravely scaled a incline to get this image.

Allie picked out some adorable outfits – loved her butterfly skirt!  The Mitas Hill Vineyard was a beautiful backdrop for their session and was so diverse in spots to photograph.  To end the session they both threw on  their college t-shirts for some silly casual photos.

This session was fun in every way and when it ended I hated to say goodbye, I just wanted to hang out with them more!  I am looking so forward to my next chance to spend time with Allie & Kane at their wedding next year!  Congrats you two!

Lara and Derek – Fort Worth Engagement Portraits

Tracy Autem Photography 2014 http://tracyautem.com

I am so in love with this couple and their Fort Worth engagement session!  I have been shooting almost all of my sessions in Dallas lately so it was awesome to be back over in Cowtown at some of my very favorite locations last week.  These two will be tying the knot in March and since I am expecting  my little one right around their wedding date I co-shot this sessions with Amanda from my associate team with Lightly Photography.  I wanted them to be completely at ease with her and get to know her as well as myself since depending on baby I may not be able to photograph their wedding myself.  It was so much fun to shoot along side Amanda, I could totally do that more often!  Lara & Derek met while at school at Hardin Simmons and from this first picture above you can see these two are totally into each other and that their relationship is full of laughter.  Mia, their pup, came along for their session and she was perfectly matched with little bows for their city photos.  I think she may have wanted the entire session to be about her.  They will be having their wedding at Piazza in the Village, it’s classic beauty but casual feel totally fits with their personalities and it sounds like they will be having quite the party!

Allison & Michael – Engagement Portraits in Fort Worth Nature

Tracy Autem & Lightly Photography 2014SWOON times ten is about how I feel about this fabulously organic and nature filled photo shoot.  When Allison told me they just wanted light and fun nature shots I knew immediately where we were going and this new favorite spot did not disappoint.  I like to do a little scouting from time to time and a few weeks ago my Lightly Photo team and I explored a little trail and found this gem of a field alone side some amazing calm waters.  Oh how fabulous it is.  It is a trek, a 20 minute walk from the car to this spot but worth every single step.  It fit them to a T and I am in love with this session and this cute couple.  Allison is the sister of one of my family portrait clients so I was super exited to meet more of the family and snag this awesome wedding.  They will be getting married this fall at The Orchard in Azle and after this I am even more on edge for their wedding!  Thanks you two for trusting me and for wearing sensible shoes for your session so we could explore!

Tracey & Luis – Engagement Photos at White Rock Lake, Dallas

2014 Tracy Autem PhotographyTracey and Luis are getting married this coming November and I can’t wait!  Number one, she has a really cool name.  Now it might have an extra “E” in it but I won’t hold that against her.  These two are darling and sweet together and I had a great time with them for their Dallas Engagement session at White Rock Lake.  We explored some new spots and some old faves for their nature inspired shoot.  The relaxed and classic feel worked perfectly with their attire and personalities.  Best part, Luis loves her.  Yep, totally.  See you two soon!

Katie & Garrett – Engagement Portraits at Dallas Arboretum and White Rock Lake

Katie and Garret will be getting married right after the new year in January and I was excited to get to know them and hang out with them for a few hours at The Dallas Arboretum before heading to White Rock Lake.  These two are sweet as pie on each other and it was a joy to photograph them.  Garrett is away at school in Arkansas right now while Katie is actually living with his Mom in west Texas before the wedding.  Soon she will  be uprooting to join him in Arkansas and I know they can’t wait to be together again full time.  See you two VERY soon!

Carley & Drew {Engaged} Fort Worth Urban Locations & Trinity River

Has this weather not been fantastic lately?  Today it is feeling a bit like winter but the last few weeks we have had unheard of warmth for January and February!  That is completely fine with me as we have been busy photographing engagements for some of our 2012 couples.  Carley & Drew live near Houston so we had to plan around one of their trips up to Fort Worth to see Carley’s family.  We explored a few of my favorite locations and one new spot.  Carley requested some photos near the Trinity river and I have been eying these tall reeds by the river off Beach Street for some time so I was excited to finally check them out.  It is actually a part of a larger park and bike trails that connects to the park that is home to the Fort Woof Dog Park.  Definitely a new favorite spot.  Favorite moment during their session, Drew’s awesome eyebrow raise.  Maybe I should say moments because I caught him doing it more than once.  Love clients that can express them selves.  See you two later this year for your wedding in November!
