Ashlea & Mark – Engagement Portraits in ChicagoDestination Photo Shoot

Chicago was an amazing city to explore with Ashlea and Mark.  Ashlea is a Texas girl at heart but life and schooling took her North to Chicago where she met Mark!  Now these two have made a home for themselves outside the city they love and they invited me to experience a day with them!  These two love being home – doing some yoga, working out in their home gym and enjoying some snuggling and cooking side by side.  Even though they may live in one of the coolest cities in the US their home is their sanctuary so we had to kick of the photo shoot there.  Ashlea and Mark showed off some Yoga poses and moves before playing in their yard and just getting cozy on the sofa.  As we headed into the city we stopped off at United Center – the home of the Chicago Bulls for some sports inspired photos.  Mark loves sports but most of all he loves Ashlea – he proposed to her over the holidays with an engagement ring tied to a new pair of kicks she had been eyeing.  She was so excited about the shoes she almost missed the ring!  After some playful photos it was time to get glam at the Chicago Theater.  Ashlea has a background in dance and is a dance therapist so she is amazing at knowing her body and I loved that she threw some dance inspired poses into our session.  From the alley’s of Chicago to the beach at sunset we laughed the entire day.  These two know how to live, love and laugh together well!  At sunset we caught the lights of the city behind them and the beauty of Lake Michigan.  I loved Chicago and getting to know this fabulous couple and can’t wait for their 2018 wedding here in Texas!

Congrats Ashlea & Mark and can’t wait to see you here in Fort Worth!

Cassie & Lee – Destination Wedding in Louisiana

I love different!  I love things that are meaningful and full of heart and soul.  Cassie and Lee are all about those things and every aspect of their intimate wedding getaway in Louisiana demonstrated that.  Off the beaten path in Chalybeate Springs these two married in a church that Lee’s family has attended for generations.  This heart connection was why they chose to fly a small party of their closest friends and family to the location to celebrate with them.  After a touching ceremony a light lunch reception was hosted outside the church with Cajun cuisine and cake.  The day was pulled together by the fabulous Tami Winn Events.

Thanks to all the amazing vendors both at home in Fort Worth and in Louisiana that helped make this day so beautiful.

Sarah & Brian {Married Part 1} At La Paloma Westin Resort in Tucson, AZ

It’s been a few weeks since Sarah & Brian’s wedding and frankly I had a very hard time editing their images.  These two just pulled at my heart strings so selecting images to show as my favorites has been impossible, I wanted to share every single one!  Today I am excited to share their preparations, details and ceremony.

Amanda, my associate, and I traveled to Tucson for this amazing wedding at the La Paloma Westin Resort.  Destination weddings are always a treat but are hard work as we combine a whirlwind weekend of travel, multiple events and beautiful weddings.  La Paloma is a beautiful backdrop for a wedding with one of the best views in my opinion of the Mountains.   It was a fabulous break from my Texas weddings (Can you tell I was a bit excited about mountains?)  Read on for more about their perfect day and look on the blog next week for part 2 of their wedding images!

I adored the texture in Sarah’s hair with the ribbon weaved through it.

She was excited and SO cute about everything.

Brian works at the La Paloma Country Club with the Golf Course so we had to brave the 100+ heat for at least one photo on the green.

Love the squishy face.

A sweet kiss between Brian and his Mom.

Brian was a ball of emotion (one more reason I loved him as a groom) and as he opened his wedding gift from Sarah he fell apart.  This is his sister hugging him when he needed it.

Sarah putting on her wedding gift, custom designed earrings.

Brian walking his Grandma down the aisle.

Brian’s Father and Mother.

Sarah’s Brother and Mother.

Sarah’s brother escorted her down the aisle.

Did I mention Brian was emotional??  I have too many photos of him crying with joy that I could barely choose.

After their first kiss (above) I love that the embraced and savored the moment (below.)

Heather & John {Anniversary Photographs} Couples Shoot in Fort Worth

I first met Heather and John last year at her sister, Bethany’s wedding.  Bethany actually did her getting ready photos at their house and I fell in love with this couples unique style.  As I was able to spend more time with them I just thought they were super neat so I was excited when John contacted us to photograph them for their anniversary.  They wanted something a little different with a nod to some of their favorite pass times so we put our heads together along with some help from my friend Lindsey and came up with this sweet session.  I love that they LOVE to spend time together.  They like to play games like cards or dominoes (supposedly they are VERY serious about their domino playing) and they travel frequently.  I could hang out with these two all day and Heather’s sweet silliness just brings my joy.  It was my pleasure to capture these photos for them and mark this time in their life.
