Shelby and Whilden are getting married next spring here in Fort Worth and it is going to be such a beautiful reception at the Ashton Depot! These two met in college at Texas Tech 3 years ago and their life has now brought them to Midland where they are working and living. Leading up to the wedding here in Fort Worth where Shelby is from they are putting down roots in Midland – looking for a home and enjoying life with their 2 pups. For their engagement session their doggies joined us for some photos at Trinity Park (thanks to Mom who dog wrangled!) They were super cute and so sweet. After some dog pics we headed to the Botanic Gardens and strolled around the Fuller Garden. I loved Shelby’s blue bright dress, she has the most gorgeous smile. Can’t wait for this wedding!
Nicole and Kyle will be getting married in just a few months and I can’t wait! Their Dallas Weddings at SMU Perkins and The Adolphus is going to be one fun party! How do I know? Because these two keep good company, they are friends of one of my other couples and every wedding we get to photograph related to this group of friends is always dance floor packed don’t want it to end excitement.
Nicole and Kyle are super sweet together. During their session I loved that there was lots of laughter – Kyle knows how to make Nicole smile and laugh and I can just see how she melts into his harms. Pretty dang perfect. This day can not get here fast enough! Congrats you two and I will see you soon!
This wedding has me on the edge of my seat – September can’t get here fast enough so I can celebrate for 2 days with this amazing couple. Britny is the sister of one of my past brides and I have loved her ever since. When she called to say she was getting married I was over the moon. She is funny, bright and just a joy to be with. I can see why Aman chased after her. Aman is just as fun and a complete gentleman. He is in love and is such a genuine and kind person. When we first got to talking Britny told me how when they were first talking they would do some fishing down at the pond so we incorporated a little bit of fishing into their session for a nod at their story. I loved this beautiful and warm quilt that Brit brought along – we pretended it was cold and snuggled up since it was a 70 degree kind of December day! For a taste of a more formal look we also visited the Dallas Arboretum. I will see you both in Sept for a traditional Indian ceremony and a full fledged american celebration and wedding! It is going to be awesome!

This post is all about the couple! I am kicking off Bree & Craig’s big wedding reveal with all of their romantic portraits and their first look from their private residence ranch wedding outside of Dallas. After a day of prep and a little side of nerves this couple FINALLY got to see each other. I love this couple because they are raw and honest and pretty amazingly in love. We hopped on the old golf cart and headed out into the pasture for some photos with hay bales and the spot where he proposed. At sunset the light glowing behind the trees near Bree’s family pond was pretty much the most perfect thing ever! I am so glad, due to the first look earlier in the day, we had time to focus on some killer photos when that sun hit the sweet spot. Scroll on to see some pretty hot pics with a side of silly thrown in. Enjoy!
Huge thank you to A Stylish Soiree for making this wedding so much fun and beautiful to boot!
This crowd was FUN! Can you tell? I loved this couple and their wild and crazy friends. After a sweet ceremony at Clare’s home church in Colleyville we headed to the Four Seasons in Las Collinas for their wedding reception. Before kicking off the party though we had to take portraits. We took SOOO many that I loved at this wedding that I am giving them their very own blog post!
Check out Blaine and his men. They are a dapper group and were all ready to cut up for the camera. They looked well put together in their gray suiting and fun socks! Blaine definitely owned his look and had a good time with his friends.
Claire and her ladies look completely classic with a kick of energy in their coral and bright summer bouquets. Their pale grey silver gowns with sheer necklines looked light and soft along side the yards of toulle of the brides gown. She rocked a completely chic top knot bun that looked flawless all night long.
Oh – and the kids. Look at those minis! Even they were enjoying their wedding day roles.
If that isn’t enough awesomeness, there are some killer romantic portraits of the bride and groom too! Clare and Blaine have playful spirits so some picking up, walking and some silly faces were a must! The golf course at this Dallas venue is the perfect wedding photography location as you can see from these stunning portraits.
Thanks to the wedding vendors that helped make these photos beautiful:

I am SO excited about portraits this FALL!!!! Last year I was on maternity leave with Gideon so I completely missed this busy portrait season. Since I had an entire extra year to think about how much I love doing them and where I wanted to photograph my mini sessions I have a great line up. It is making me think about my own families yearly photo and what on earth I will select for our holiday card. We have a whole new line of cards this year I am in love with so I am not sure how I will choose. In case your new, Lightly Photography is my portrait line and of course fabulous team of associate wedding photographers.
This year we will be offering Fall Mini Sessions on select Saturdays and weekdays. Available weekend dates are October 6th & 27th or November 17th. October sessions will be photographed in Fort Worth near our studio and you may choose from rustic urban, bright urban or field/nature. November 17th will be at Penn Farms at Cedar Hill State Park. The farm has vintage barns, open fields, dirt roads and fence lines as well as beautiful trees. Please note there is an additional cost for admission to the Farms, individuals over 12 are $7 each. (The Farms rock and I may very well be doing my own family here this year.)

Natalie and Ryan’s wedding was quite a beautiful affair. The details, location and food were magnificent but more on that tomorrow. Today it is all about their first look and portraits. Natalie is an event planner out of Houston so she completely understood the importance of photos and knew that to get the most opportunity for images a first look is the way to go. A few hours before the ceremony we set up Natalie in the courtyard of University christian in her to die for Vera Wang dress (does it look familiar? Think Kate Hudson in Bride Wars!) and Ryan walked out to her with the biggest grin on his face. I adored that he was so cautious as he walked up to her, careful not to step on the gown and leaning in for a kiss. It was sweet that Natalie looked him over and smoothed his hair. So truthful and a window into their loving marriage that was about to be. After we took some romantic images of them both before family photos and a very fun night of celebration. Check back tomorrow for all the details and tear jerking moments!
Grinning, yep, I think he loves her.
So careful but had to get a kiss.
Natalie had to help make him picture perfect.
They had a BIG and super fun bridal party.
The entire crew, bridesmaids, house party, groomsmen, ushers, flower girls and a ring bearer!!
Love this dramatic photo of Natalie in the church with her veil.
We never miss an opportunity to take advantage of the amazing downtown Fort Worth views from City Club‘s balcony.
It was a TCU kinda crowd, go Horned Frogs!!!
Jadrien & McCall had a very TCU wedding from purple bridesmaids gowns, floral, cuff-links, popcorn and an appearance by super frog. They are so incredibly sweet on one another and my heart soared while I photographed the two of them alone. They were extra nice to me and gave me a bit of extra time at a location of my choosing so we hit some urban walls including the purple one above. Jadrien wore a gorgeous gown from Bliss Bridal while her bridesmaids dresses were from Ocones. One of my favorite people, Dietra of Lush Couture Floral provided all the fabulous arrangements. Shannon with Something You made sure Jadrien and her Mom had flawless faces while my great friend Kelly Arroyo provided hair services. The cakes were made by Lesley’s Cakes and Glenn Roush kept the dance floor full and going all night long. It was truly a perfect day for my “Disney Princess” Bride (more on that in the moments post!) at Robert Carr Chapel & City Club of Fort Worth all pulled together by Chrissie Stuntz Events.
I am so excited to share this wedding! I have known the Groom, TJ, for many a years and I was super thrilled to share in his wedding day. Their day was a complete tear jerk-er but I’ll tell more about that in Part 2 of their wedding blog. This one is all about the pretty. Brandi had always had her eyes on Old Red Courthouse in Dallas for her wedding and she could not have picked a more perfect venue for her vintage chic wedding. Wendy with Birds of a Feather Events helped pull it all together with cute silhouettes of the bride and groom on cookies and wall art. Wendy also made the most beautiful hand sewn flowers for the place settings and brought together a fabulous array of vintage books and items to complete the decor. Brandi wore a gorgeous gown from Pence & Panache in Burleson while her bridesmaids wore Priscilla of Boston. The simply delicious brides cake and the zombie grooms cake were made by Sugar Bee Sweets. Kabloom provided the magnificent floral and Randy Ro Entertainment kept us dancing all night long. I can’t wait to share the little things that made me have watery eyes ALL day soon.
