Aurie & Joe – 1 Year Anniversary PortraitFort Worth, Texas

Tracy Autem 2015

When Aurie reached out to me a few weeks ago about a 1 year anniversary photo shoot I had no idea all the fun I was getting into.  You guys – she surprised him with this photo shoot!  It was like a first look on a wedding day but 1 year later!  Aurie left Joe clues on what to wear, where to go and when to be there and then we prompted him to come outside where he saw his beautiful wife of one year in her wedding gown!  Why?  Well, one a wedding dress is so pretty that really all girls need to get some bonus wear’s out of it!  Two: sometimes wedding days aren’t as smooth as planned and it can mean that less photos are captured than really wanted.  That was the case for Aurie and Joe – their wedding was out of state and she decided to fix her one wedding day regret with a photo session.  I feel so lucky she asked me to be a part!

Joe and Aurie are so adorably sweet together.  After some romantic wedding day style portraits we headed for a picnic complete with their top tier wedding cakes – thawed out and ready to eat!  It was super special.

Happy Anniversary and here is to many years of surprises, fun and laughter!  You two cracked me up and just gave me all the good feels.

Celebration de Lamour – A French Picnic styled photo shoot with Tami Winn Events and Brides of North Texas Magazine

SS14_BONT_Tabletop_TamiWinn_01_1This tabletop shoot was one to remember!  I love when planners and designers think outside the box and Tami Winn definitely did with this French inspired picnic. The low ground level tables surrounded by posh pillows were so inviting.  I adored the bold striped linens, the classic gold and pops of pink.  Treats were provided by the Four Seasons Resort with a ruffled cake by Creme de la Creme.  This sweet picnic took place with one of my real couples, Kristy & Jared, at the Four Seasons in Dallas Spa Poll Deck.  This pocket of pretty green grass, surrounded by trees created a haven for our set and lovely couple.  To add to the outdoor vibe we were joined by a little frenchie, a french bulldog that is, Bruiser.  Bruiser is the pup of one Dallas’ best DJ’s, Glenn Roush.  Thanks to all the vendors who took part in this photo shoot and check it out in the pages of Brides of North Texas Magazine!

Sara & Derek {Engaged} Fort Worth Urban & a Grassy picnic

Sara & Derek are getting married next June and although I wont be photographing their wedding I was very excited to get to know them and capture this important time in their life.  They knew exactly what they wanted location wise, wore beautiful bright outfits and brought along so cute props so they were SO my kind of people.  I immediately felt a bond with Sara over her love of cupcakes because seriously, who doesn’t love cupcakes!  They were incredibly sweet to one another and both of them just wowed me with their infectious smiles and killer eyes.  I must say at the end of the session I was sad that I won’t be photographing their wedding but they do have one lucky photographer because they are a joy to have in front of the camera.  Best of luck in all your wedding plans and I hope that I helped you nail down those color choices (Sara has been so overwhelmed and not able to decide but we did some major color conversing during our shoot – turquoise and dusty rose, pretty!!!)

Rebecca & Mark {Enaged} at the McKinney Cotton Mill

Rebecca & Mark are getting married in Dallas next year and I can’ wait for their wedding!  Last Friday we got together at the McKinney Cotton Mill for their engagement session.  This time of year the weather is unpredictable (well, it is Texas so maybe I should say all year) and we couldn’t risk cold or rain as Mark lives in Washington DC and Rebecca lives here.  He flew in for the weekend so he could meet me and get close and cuddly with his woman in front of the camera.  It was awesome to meet Mark and we hit it off right away as we both have something in common, photography!  Mark loves photography and learned using film and the darkroom (like me!) so we were chatting it up from the very beginning of their shoot.  Their relationship has pretty much always been long distance with each of them taking turns flying across the nation every other week to spend time together.  They met years ago but sparks didn’t fly BUT when Mark came back for a visit he remembered Rebecca and asked his friend to invite her out.  It is history after that as these two are a perfect match, their families love them and so do I!  He is so sweet on her and her beauty is even more stunning when she smiles looking at him.  So lucky to photograph people in love.

Lindsey & Jason – Engaged Part 2 {A Picnic}

For the second part of Lindsey & Jason’s engagement session we headed down to Trinity Park and had a picnic!  Lindsey brought lots of cute props and my favorite, J Rae’s cupcakes!  Yum.  We played some guitar, had lemonade and read love poems.  THEN we headed down town to end the day.  It was fun filled, packed with cool things and I LOVE the results.  Here is part 2 of their session and a slide show of highlights!
