Christy & Mark – Fort Worth Engagement Session at Trinity Park & The ModernFort Worth, Texas

Christy & Mark are fun, lighthearted but old souls.  This combination makes for a couple that loves fiercely and enjoys one another even in the most simple of things.  Mark is definitely a romantic based on his well thought out proposal.  Here is their engagement story in Christy’s words:

“Mark and I first saw each other in the state Capitol building in Austin, but didn’t really meet until several months later.  So, for our proposal, he asked me to come to the capitol for a business dinner he had. Once I got there, he met me in the large rotunda, and said we were actually going to get a private tour of the capitol building from one of his State Trooper friends.  He then took us up this tiny, windy staircase, and out on to the balcony overlooking downtown Austin at sunset.  That’s when he got down on one knee — and said that he knew when he first saw me 2 year prior, that he couldn’t imagine life without me.  Both my family, and his family, and my two closest friends were all hiding behind a pillar, they jumped out and said congratulations! I was so glad he had these people who mean so much to us, travel to be there for such a special moment!”

For their engagement session we had fun strolling through Trinity Park taking in the fall color and had some fun on the playground and stopped to feed some duckies.  My favorite part of their session was playing amidst The Modern art museum Christmas lights!  I love the effects of the lights in the photos and I think everyone needs to take a break from life to just enjoy the little things sometimes and there is no better time of year to do that than the holidays.  I hope your Holiday is filled with light and cheer as Christy & Mark’s relationship most definitely is!

Megan & Dylan – Wedding Reception at The Modern Art MuseumFort Worth, Texas

Lightly Photography 2016

The Modern Art Museum of For tWorth is always a fave spot of mine – the venue has the most gorgeous architecture and being photographed in front of world class art is kind of amazing.  With an exhibit taking up the downstairs of the museum Philip, the museum guru, took me to a few spots I don’t usually get to visit including this fun lit piece above that was made for a romantic silhouette shot!

The grand hall was stunning with the grey’s of the museum against the silver and plum purples of the reception design by Tami Winn Events.  Lighting by It’s your night entertainment brought depth to the space.  To really escalate the bar spaces Tami Winn brought in hedge walls and bar facades.  So pretty!

Megan & Dylan entered the grand hall via the cat walk above their reception and welcomed guests before sitting down to dinner.  After cake and some mingling we moved the party to the cafe where the oval custom dance floor became center stage.  During the first dance Megan’s Daddy some how unplugged all the lighting systems but these two kept going and we kept photographing – it was definitely one of those funny moments that will forever be a wedding day story.  Megan & Dylan partied, danced, tossed bouquets & garter’s and savored every moment of their wedding reception!

I could not make all the beautiful images without the help of a fabulous vendor team, thanks to these guys for making my job easy!

Eugenia & Michael {Married Part 1 – Preperation & Ceremony} Fort Worth Modern Art Museum & Botanic Gardens

Eugenia and Michael are a very special couple.  They both serve our country in the US Army and met while stationed abroad.  This month they were finally married which means soon they will be able to be stationed together and no longer stationed states away from each other.  For their wedding they selected Fort Worth since no matter what their families would have to travel and Eugenia would need to plan some where other than she was stationed.  This difficult task was made much easier by the help of Dayna Tooley, event planner and coordinator, who helped with every detail.  On the day of the wedding we met up at The Embassy Suites in down town Fort Worth for preparations.  Eugenia is one lucky girl with a whole beauty team in her family.  Her Mother did her hair and her sister helped with make up for her and most of the bridesmaids.  Definitely an easy team to trust!

Once the gown was on we headed over to the Fort Worth Botanical Garden for the couples first look and ceremony.  Tomorrow I will be sharing their first moments together on the wedding day as well as some of the fabulous portraits we were able to take with all the time this allows us.  They were married in the Rose Garden, Eugenia pictured something outside and flowering for her wedding and this is one of the first things they selected.  The reception was more Michael’s vision, the Fort Worth Modern. More of their fun, dance filled party later this week!  The weather could not have been more perfect and the clouds rolled in just moments before the ceremony making the light so perfect.  I adored their traditional broom jumping, fist pumping celebration as they walked out of the wedding and the sweet moment with Michael’s Grandfather as he welcomed Eugenia to the family.
