Melissa and Doug had a beautiful wedding at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth a few weeks ago. The couple selected this church because many of Doug’s family members have married here over the years so it was the perfect nod to tradition. The couple loves old world architecture and the classic archways were the perfect backdrop for their portraits and first look! For this spring wedding God totally blessed us and gave us some sunshine and clear skies right up until we were finishing with outdoor portraits! Then the rain came! Could not have had better timing.
Thanks to al the vendors who made this day so beautiful:
Shelby and Whilden are the cutest! These two were so excited to get married and they could not wait to see each other. Whilden was anxious but when he walked out of the door of the First United Methodist Church you could see it all melt away. Shelby was all smiles to finally be beside her groom! After some beautiful photos outside of the church with family and friends these two said I do in the main sanctuary.
Thank you to the vendor team who made this day so beautiful and flawless:
This day was so beautiful and full of tons of emotional moments. As we arrived at the club the ladies were playing games and the guys were enjoying the newly renovated bar area at the Fort Worth Club on the 11th floor. As Leigh was helped into her gown by her Mom and sister and bridesmaids and house party eagerly awaited the reveal of her gown…when she came out everyone squealed and clapped! Leigh was surely stunning in her gown with an illusion back, lace detailing and plunging illusion neckline. This dress was made for her!!! The drama didn’t stop with that reveal – it was the first of THREE! Next up Dad was just smiling and happy to see his gorgeous daughter. (to see her First Look with Evan, the groom, check out the blog post dedicated to it.) Leigh and Evan had prepared the most thoughtful gift for her parents – a weekend getaway after all the stress and planning of a wedding! Mom was shocked and I was totally crying!
At ceremony time as the doors opened and everyone stood for Leigh to enter the church, Evan was flooded with emotion. First look’s are special but they don’t take away from that special moment. When he saw his bride arm in arm with her Dad he cried! It was precious! Watching these two from the balcony I had the best view in the house as they whispered to each other and smiled during their vows. Then – they were married! Congrats Leigh and Evan and I can’t wait to share your killer party pics!

Courtney & Miles are so dreamy. I mean, look at them! I wish I had hours to photograph these two alone but sometimes we make due with the 10-15 minutes we have. I loved every moment I did have with them and am so happy that they found each other. They have a deep love and it was truly a pleasure to capture that for them. Congrats you two! You are going to have a fabulous life together!
What an amazing and serene moment – these two were just so calm and cool as they embraced after their wedding. Big smiles were also had but this quiet little moment between them just grabbed me. Cortney & Miles are two of the nicest people – I mean this girl holds open doors for her wedding vendors and thanks us for being at her wedding! Sweet and silly girl – I could not have been happier to be with you and couldn’t have imagined spending this day any other way!
We started their day at Fort Worth Club for preparations before heading to First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Worth. The church as deep meaning to the couple as Miles’ Mother is actually one of the on staff pastors. She was smart though and played Mom of the Groom all day and left the marrying to her fellow pastors – she knew she would be a weeping mess if she had to marry them and I understand – that would be so hard! We took advantage of the lovely courtyard at the church for pre-ceremony portraits of the family and bridesmaids and groomsmen before it was time to get married!
All the pretty was made at this wedding by one fabulously pulled together team! Big shout out to each and every one of them:

Can’t wait to share more of this beautiful Fort Worth wedding later this week!
Ashlyn and Ben were so much fun to photograph and they had a truly spectacular day. We joined up with them pre-ceremony at The Fort Worth Club for getting ready before heading to First United Methodist in downtown. I loved SO many parts of their day, Ashlyn’s laughter as she was dressed in her gown, Ben’s expression as he opened his gift, the hammer that wasn’t quite cut out to nail and all the fun dance moves and silliness at the reception. Read on for more details about their day and a HUGE thank you to the team that made it so flawless.
And my favorite part, here is their wedding highlights reel:
What girl doesn’t love a beautiful nude shoe….especially with that red sole.
Ashlyn was laughing as they dressed her and that made me happy inside, I love brides filled with so much joy!
Ben looking so handsome.
These sweet girls were silly all day and beyond cute.
Ben’s reaction to his special groom’s present was priceless.
Ashlyn reading Ben’s LOOOONG note.
A little giggle during the ceremony.
With some Louisiana flair they couple was led out in style!
The Fort Worth Club looked amazing and the decor Ashlyn & Ben choose went perfectly with the ballroom.
My favorite part of their decor was this little sofa. It belongs to the Fort Worth Club and the moved it to use it as their seats of honor at their massive head table. The floral on it just made it perfect and what a beautiful statement!
As guests entered the ballroom the were greeted with champagne and a song by the Limelight Band, this girl can sing!
Toasts from friends made everyone laugh.
They opted for a sweet bar with 2 small cakes and I adored these monogrammed cookies, perfect prop for the rings!
Ashlyn was read to throw the bouquet and those girls were READY to catch it. I love when people get in to the traditions.
Perfectly sweet moment caught between Ashlyn and her Grandpa.
Ben has some righteous dance moves.
No wedding would be complete with out a sing along to Don’t Stop Believe’n and Ben was quick to jump on the stage and take that microphone.
A little more New Orleans flair as they departed their reception.
After Rachel & Lee’s Ceremony we had some perfect sunset light outside of First United Methodist Church. It was just lovely. Then we headed over to The Ridglea Country Club where Tara Wilson Events had an amazing party awaiting my bride and groom. Headed by the marvelous Professor D their reception of over 400 guests danced and boogied all night long. It was made possible by the following vendor team:
I am SO excited to share this wedding. Unfortunately it is my last to post for awhile as I am getting super close (less than 7 weeks) to welcoming our new baby boy which means maternity leave from weddings. I will be DYING to shoot a wedding come December 31st when I will return from leave. This couple was the most perfect note to end my weddings for the year though. Reagan was a bridesmaid in Stacey & Brent’s wedding last year and when she got engaged I was one of the first people she contacted. In fact she was originally planning an October wedding but with me being due then she moved it to August so that I could be her photographer. Love my girls that want me there so bad they plan around me. 🙂
Reagan started her day with preparations at the Omni Hotel. I loved all the cute robes she bought for her bridesmaids and her dress was to die for gorgeous and could not have been more perfect for her. Tanner met up with us at First United Methodist in downtown Fort Worth were Reagan walked down the aisle to him for their first look. At a church like FUMC a first look is ideal as there is no center aisle. I love seeing a grooms reaction to his bride and some churches with side aisles do not offer a great view of the bride as she enters. The first look is a perfect solution as he waited for her at the front of the aisle. I adored that he held his arms out for her and she melted into him. Perfection. Later this week I will be sharing their romantic portraits and reception with their details.
