Shelby – Bridal Portrait at Lonestar MansionBurleson, Texas

Shelby along with her Mom and Sister met up with me at Lone Star Mansion in Burleson earlier this spring for her bridal session before the wedding at the Ashton Depot.  Shelby was about to run off for a bachelorette weekend in Vegas and we had a great time chatting about the fun to come and all her excitement for the wedding.  Shelby was gorgeous thanks to Grand Slam Glam and her sweet and classic gown from Ivory Bridal Atelie.  I loved the flowers made by Sage Fine Florals as well.  Lone Star has beautiful big columns that are so reminiscent of classic Southern architecture – it is a great place for portraits.

Kyndall – Bridal Portraits at Chandor GardensWeatherford, Texas

Kyndall’s bridal portraits at Chandor Gardens were so fun to photograph!  I love her classic lace gown with a beaded belt from the Neiman Marcus Bridal Salon.  We had so much fun laughing and playing in the gardens.  Her family owns Lilium Flowers and the provided her lush all white bouquet.  Her long blonde tresses were perfect thanks to Fallon Farmer with Love & Pout.

Leigh – Bridal Portrait at The Dallas ArboretumDallas, Texas

Leigh is a gorgeous bride!  Her lace gown with a plunging back and neckline was amazing!  I am loving these new illusion styles that expose yet cover and make dresses so sensual yet sophisticated.  Leigh is a sweet girl and I loved hanging out with her and her Mom at the bridal session at The Dallas Arboretum.  Her veil added some drama and when paired with the light wind we had some perfect moments.  Her bouquet was loose and lush in whites and greens and the simplicity of the color palette complemented her overall look.

Nicole – Bridal Portrait at Dallas ArboretumDallas, Texas

Nicole was a gorgeous bride with a big heart, lovely smile and a happiness that is infectious.  Her wedding last year at the Adolphus was fun filled and I so loved getting to know her parents and Kyle’s family.  I always get the blues after weddings are over because I really build such a closeness with my brides that I want to have excuses to see them forever.  Today I am revisiting this lovely lady and sharing her bridal portraits.  Photographed last spring at the Dallas Arboretum.  Nicole found her dress at the Bridal Boutique of Lewisville and her flowers are by Fleurs & Events.  It was super HOT this day and she brought the best crew of ladies to help her out.  With cousins and bridesmaids at her side they brought mini fans to keep Nicole cool, carried things are cracked us al up.  A wedding is made special by the couple but it is furthered by those close to them that they choose to include – Nicole definitely has great people in her life and that mad her bridal session a day I will not forget!

Lauren – Bridal Portraits at Arlington HallDallas, TX

Lauren was just stunning in her delicate beaded overlay gown.  It was so unique and completely fits her personality and style.  The day Lauren found her dress at Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC she was just going to look and check out a trunk show of a designer she loved, it was love at first sight with this dress though so she committed to it and I’m so glad she did.  Her undone garden bouquet by The Southern Table added to the light airy feel of Lauren’s look.  We photographed this session just days before her wedding since she lives in New York.  Totally loved being with her and Doug for their day.

What to Wear – Bridal PortraitsFAQ

The brides look sets the tone for the wedding day and here are some tips for bridal portraits & the big day!

wedding-first-united-methodist-fort-worth-club-sarabeth-events-tracy-autem-photography-017

FITTINGS – Now that you have selected ‘the one’ (your gown, not the groom) the next step is a flawless fit. Invest in your alterations and bustling. The bustle is what pulls the train of your gown up off the floor so you can comfortably dance. This is a separate charge from your fitting fees so please remember to ask your seamstress or dress store about what style of bustle will best accentuate the cut & style of your dress.

UNDERGARMENTS – Finding the right undergarments is also important, you want to feel sexy & aid the way the dress fits. Hunt out the right foundation to your style: a great bra, corset or a full body support system to make sure you feel sexier & thinner. When in doubt return to your dress boutique, they can always help you with style choices.

SHOES – Have fun & show off your personality and style from a super chic colored shoe to traditional white. Wear your shoes at home ahead of time to break them in.  We have brides that swear by wearing them with athletic socks around the house before the wedding to make them more comfy.  If your selection might be a bit uncomfortable plan an alternate like ballet flats. Bring both options to your bridal portrait and put a trusted bridesmaid in charge of the alternate pair for the reception.

HAIR & MAKEUP – Staying true to your style is key when it comes to hair and makeup. Let your artists know exactly what you want. Photo retouching is costly and not available on all those cell phone photos your friends are bound to take so make sure you look flawless in all photos by hiring pros.  If you have extensions find a hairdresser that is familiar styling them.  To wear your hair up or down – that is always the question!  We love your hair either way but do think about your wedding day personality – if you imagine yourself rarely leaving the dance floor than an up-do is bound to look more flawless all night long!

FLOWERS – Ask your florist if she can provide you with a trial bouquet for your bridal portrait.  This is a great chance to see a trial run of your wedding day floral and make sure that the colors and stems are just what you were envisioning.

WHEN – This session needs to be scheduled 1 or more months in advance of your wedding and you should have your entire look, head to toe the day of the session. For your bridal location we suggest sharing images of your gown with us and discussing the feeling you want for your portrait. Be aware that indoor and specialty locations must be scheduled and fees apply.  What if you aren’t having bridal portraits?  Don’t worry we will still photograph you alone and achieve a beautiful portrait of you in your dress the day of the wedding.

Ashley – Bridal Portraits at Dallas Petroleum Club and Downtown Park

Tracy Autem 2015

Ashley is such a fun bride and her bridal’s were no exception.  I could have hung out with this pretty girl and let her prance for me all day in this gorgeous gown.  I loved the light and airy feeling of her drew and how stunning it looked with her cathedral length veil.  Ashley and Derek were married at the Ritz Carlton last week so stay tuned for their wedding.  We danced all night until our feet hurt!  Congrats sweetie!

Caitlyn – Bridal Portraits at McKinney Cotton Mill

I have one word to describe Caitlyn, WOW.  It completely sums her up and her gorgeous bridal portraits at McKinney Cotton Mill.  Her eyes are piercing and she has marvelous bone structure as well as looking amazing in her gown from LuLu’s Bridal in Dallas.  In addition to her bridals we spent some extra time together at the NYLO in Plano for Boudoir photos.  One of my favorite lingere sessions ever that I wish I could share.  I had so much fun photographing her and I can’t wait to share her wedding later this week.
