Ashlea & Mark – Engagement Portraits in ChicagoDestination Photo Shoot

Chicago was an amazing city to explore with Ashlea and Mark.  Ashlea is a Texas girl at heart but life and schooling took her North to Chicago where she met Mark!  Now these two have made a home for themselves outside the city they love and they invited me to experience a day with them!  These two love being home – doing some yoga, working out in their home gym and enjoying some snuggling and cooking side by side.  Even though they may live in one of the coolest cities in the US their home is their sanctuary so we had to kick of the photo shoot there.  Ashlea and Mark showed off some Yoga poses and moves before playing in their yard and just getting cozy on the sofa.  As we headed into the city we stopped off at United Center – the home of the Chicago Bulls for some sports inspired photos.  Mark loves sports but most of all he loves Ashlea – he proposed to her over the holidays with an engagement ring tied to a new pair of kicks she had been eyeing.  She was so excited about the shoes she almost missed the ring!  After some playful photos it was time to get glam at the Chicago Theater.  Ashlea has a background in dance and is a dance therapist so she is amazing at knowing her body and I loved that she threw some dance inspired poses into our session.  From the alley’s of Chicago to the beach at sunset we laughed the entire day.  These two know how to live, love and laugh together well!  At sunset we caught the lights of the city behind them and the beauty of Lake Michigan.  I loved Chicago and getting to know this fabulous couple and can’t wait for their 2018 wedding here in Texas!

Congrats Ashlea & Mark and can’t wait to see you here in Fort Worth!

Katherine & Mason – Engagement Photos at Trinity Park & StockyardsFort Worth, Texas

Katherine & Mason met while attending Oklahoma State.  They first crossed each other’s paths as Katherine utilized Mason’s frat house kitchen to bake up some killer s’mores cookie bars.  He felt that it was best not to leave a pretty girl unattended in the kitchen and he then had first dibs on those cookies too!  Later on as they joined the same group of friends to study it clicked and these two started dating.  They have been together 6 years and life has taken them on many adventures together.  Right now Katherine is finishing up Law School before the wedding and Mason is working with his family business out of town.  Soon though, they will be married, together and living a “grown up” life as Mason calls it.  I know the adulting they have ahead of them will be fun, blessed and full of laughter because these two are darling together and full of giggles – especially when Mason gets close to Katherine.  She was getting tickled all session by him!  For their shoot we really embraced the Fort Worth vibe hitting up the Stockyards and Trinity Park for some nature photos.
Can’t wait for the wedding at the Ashton Depot in September!

Kristin & Michael – Engagement Photography at Chandor GardensWeatherford, Texas

This cute couple met in Denver through mutual friends.  Both Aggies they were far from home – chasing dreams, jobs and adventure when they were introduced to each other almost 2 years ago.  Now in just a few weeks they will be getting married at a beautiful new venue, Dove Ridge Vineyard.  Kristin & Michael are adorable together – lots of laughter and they just melt into each other.  Kristin says she moved to Colorado to seek adventure – the outdoors and more – I think she found the best life has to offer in  Michael.  I know their lives will be full of exploration and I can’t wait for the wedding!

Mary Katherine & Wes – Engagement Portrats at Dallas Arboretum & White Rock LakeDallas, Texas

Mary Katherine and Wes met at Texas Christian University in business class.  Wes caught her eye as he was giving a presentation and now, 7 years later, they are getting married this December.  After college these two and their dog Cash moved to Dallas.  We visited the Dallas Arboretum and the Lake for their engagement session.  They spend lots of time with their pup at White Rock Lake – Cash LOVES the lake!  He was such  good boy for us during their photo shoot.  In January Wesley popped the question on Mary Katherine’s birthday and I can’t wait to celebrate with them on New Years Eve Weekend!

Morgan and Todd – Engagement Portraits in Fort Worth7th Street Bridge & Japanese Gardens

Morgan & Todd are the cutest!  They literally JUST got engaged this last weekend we followed up the proposal in Dallas with a session 2 days later!  I can’t wait for their wedding later this year in Fort Worth so we used some of my favorite spots in Fort Worth for their engagement session like the Japanese Gardens, 7th street bridge and downtown near Sundance Square.

These two were brought together by mutual friends and have since started life with some big adventures.  Todd is in the military so Morgan has followed him to an out of state assignment and is ready to be a military wife.  I know their life will be full of fun and lots of love and laughter.  They started planning their wedding pre-engagement during Todd’s last deployment.  It’s hard to actually propose while living countries apart so when he returned he proposed.  It may not be the traditional order of things but as a Air Force brat myself I totally understand having to do everything on the governments time.  What is obvious is how happy they are together.  I had a great time getting to know Todd, talking video games, military life and his travels and finding out about the things they love to do together.  I am inspired to sign up for Hello Fresh after photographing these guys – sounds like they have lots of good meals and laughter at home together thanks to this meal service!

I will see you two in the Fall for the wedding!

Katie and Allen – Engagement Portraits in Fort WorthTrinity Park & Downtown

Katie & Allen are adorable!  They have made their home in Arlington with their two pups that could not be a better reflection of themselves.  They met through mutual friends – best friends that married each other brought these two into each others lives!  Could not be a better way to meet and be sure you have life in common.  Katie & Allen love to adventure and can be found playing top golf or attending a game – especially the Rangers!  After 4 years these two will say I Do this summer at Piazza in The Village and it is going to be one FUN party with DJ Andy Austin there to bring the party!

See you both in a few months!!!

Jacqueline & Matt – Engagement Portraits in a Natural ParkFort Worth, Texas

This session just makes my cheeks hurt – I am smiling so much and haven’t really stopped since I photographed these two lovebirds!  Jacqueline and Matt met in college in Tulsa and were a perfect match.  Together these two just melt into one another and I love the way Matt looks at his bride to be, he knows he is a lucky guy!  These two are doing the long distance dance right now as Jacqueline travels allot from her home locally to Houston to be with Matt.  My prayer for them is that she soon finds that perfect job down in Houston so she can be close to her guy!  I adored the long formal frock that Jacqueline paired with this natural location – it made the two of them the stars of the photos!  The light we had was perfect for their afternoon session – look at that amazing light!  Recent rains had the waterfall full of water and these brave souls barred their feet and walked through it to reach my perfect spots.  So thankful for adventures and love filled clients!  Can’t wait for their Fall wedding at Robert Carr Chapel and The Ashton Depot!

Annie and Josh – Engagement Session in Fort WorthNature & Fairmount District

I am CRAZY excited for this wedding.  In just 4 short weeks these two are saying I do and kicking off a new life together at MOPAC here in Fort Worth.  If you are a bride of mine this sweet lady will look familiar – she is my amazing associate photographer Annie Norvell!  I love her sweetness, silliness and passion for photography, Christ and life.  I have always thought she was pretty amazing from the first time I photographed her – for her High School Senior Portraits!  But, when she met Josh this last year I watched her grow deeper in love with Jesus, focus her life and fall head over heels for a Man that fulfilled her.  It has truly been the best to see her mature along side him AND I have really loved getting to know Josh.  From Facebook messages and texts to plan a surprise proposal (see it HERE) and being at his side as he nervously awaited the moment he would ask Annie to marry him – Joshua has impressed me with his honesty, fun spirt and desire to serve God and the woman he believes was set apart for him.

This wedding will be a little extra special for me – Annie is like my baby sister – SO, Josh – welcome to the family!  I can’t wait for you to marry one of my favorite people in the world because I know she is for sure your favorite.

Taylor & Tyler – Engagement Session at Botanic Gardens & Water GardensFort Worth, Texas

Taylor and Tyler are getting married in Fort Worth later this year and TCU’s Robert Carr Chapel and City Club of Fort Worth.  These two may have some Fort Worth roots but life has taken them to Dallas where they met through some mutual friends.  Taylor & Tyler spend time traveling and LOVE sports!  Tyler attended TCU, although originally from California and Taylor grew up in the Fort Worth area.  For their engagement session they wanted a little nature and Tyler requested the Fort Worth Water Gardens.  It may be winter but I love the textures and tree lines at the botanic gardens this time of year.  I am excited to spend their most special day with them in August!

Abbey & Andrew – Engagement Session at the StockyardsFort Worth, Texas

Abbey & Andrew started their story in Fort Worth with a chance meeting.  It is Abbey’s hometown and Andrew lived in Fort Worth for work.  Although they only knew each other briefly they kept in touch after Andrew moved on to work in California.  Sometimes though things are just meant to be and as life happened and things changed in Abbey’s life she got a call for a job in California too and moved out West where she later reconnected with Andrew.  Second time was a charm but I have to say that I think they were meant to be after spending an hour with them in front of my camera.  These two are positively perfect together and just full of smiles, laughter and sweetness.  I loved that they were spending the Thanksgiving holiday together – even before they were married!  I was super happy that I got these two to sneak away from the family though for some photos!  And can I just say WOW to Abbey’s gorgeous outfit choice – so on trend and fun with beautiful coloring that just made her look stunning (don’t worry Andrew – you looked great to but can you blame me?) Can’t wait for your wedding next year!
